Chronicom Colonization of Earth[]
Creation[]
In 2019, the Chronicoms attacked the Lighthouse, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s headquarters, killing most of the agents so that S.H.I.E.L.D. could not stop their plan to rewrite history to stop the organisation from ever existing. Two of these agents, Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons, were saved at the last minute by Enoch, a Chronicom ally of S.H.I.E.L.D. The trio escaped, fleeing in the Zephyr One to Theta Serpentis, where they started plotting their plan to defeat the Chronicoms. As part of this plan, a Life-Model Decoy of Phil Coulson was created to act as their guide to S.H.I.E.L.D. history. Alongside the new LMD Coulson, they created the Switch to activate or deactivate him when the mission began.
By 2023, the Zephyr was upgraded with time-travel capabilities which the trio used to jump back to 2019, saving the remaining S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and bringing them onto the Zephyr. While Fitz remained in 2019 as part of their plan, Simmons and Enoch showed Agent Daisy Johnson and Director Alphonso Mackenzie the Coulson LMD, as well as the Switch to activate him. Johnson immediately pressed the switch, activating Coulson, who greeted them. However, the influx of the original Coulson's memories caused Coulson to become confused and scared, prompting Mackenzie to hit the switch, deactivating him again.[1]
Phil Coulson's Sabbatical[]
In 2020, the S.H.I.E.L.D. team reunited at a virtual conference using holograms. During this reunion, Alphonso Mackenzie asked Phil Coulson if he had received "the package", which Coulson confirmed. Mackenzie gave Coulson the code for the package, with the two disconnecting from the reunion shortly after. In the S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters, Coulson opened the package: a briefcase containing the Switch, as well as the keys to a new car Mackenzie built for Coulson. Coulson took the items and left in his car.[2]
