  • During a press conference in October 2014, Kevin Feige confirmed that Phase Four, and even additional phases after Phase Three, had already been planned or were being planned by saying that "[if] there are more years after 2019, then there will be movies. I hope there will be more years."[14]
  • Spider-Man: Far From Home was originally slated as the first film of Phase Four, but it was later changed to be the last film of Phase Three.
  • Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, She-Hulk and Spider-Man 3 were added to Phase Four after the initial announcement.
  • Phase Four is the first phase to:
    • Not have any Stan Lee cameos due to his death in November 2018.
    • Have a film that an actor will both star in and produce.
    • Include television series as part of its lineup in addition to films.
    • Have no Avengers films and no Captain America solo films.
    • Have a fourth solo film for a character.
    • Have a year that includes four films.
