- "We grew up on this thing. It's not just Mom and Dad's name on it, Sarah. This thing is a part of our family."
- ―Sam Wilson to Sarah Wilson[src]
Paul & Darlene is the fishing boat owned by Sam Wilson's family, used to capture the seafood they sell through Wilson Family Seafood.
History[]
Family Boat[]
- "You gotta marvel at it. Baby being held together by duct tape and prayers."
- ―Sam Wilson[src]
The Paul & Darlene was used by Wilson Family Seafood as a fishing boat, and particularly enjoyed by Sam Wilson. When Paul Wilson and Darlene Wilson died, Sam and Sarah Wilson discussed selling the boat as it started to lose money, but agreed that they would talk about it another time. However, Sam became a victim of Thanos' Snap and disappeared for five years, during which time Sarah took out loans which resulted in the family company going into financial ruin. When Sam returned, Sarah said that they would be selling it, upsetting Sam, who got Sarah to agree to try to get a loan from the bank. The bank denied the loan to the Wilsons, upsetting Sam, who worked on trying to fix it that night, but was interrupted by a text from Joaquín Torres, asking to talk about the Flag Smashers.[1] Sarah later called Sam, attempting to have the conversation again, but got interrupted as Sam was in Madripoor and her phone call blew Wilson's cover as Conrad Mack.[2]
Dereliction[]
- "What if you had money to fix it up, make it nice so you can charter it when you're not out working the waters?"
- ―Sam Wilson to Sarah Wilson[src]
Some time later, Sam Wilson realized that since his parents were beloved by the community, he could call his neighbors and ask for help fixing the boat. The next day, several of Wilson's neighbors went to Wilson Family Seafood and helped to fix the boat together. Bucky Barnes went and helped, intending to give Wilson a new EXO-7 Falcon suit designed by Wakanda. Barnes helped Wilson to fix the boat and agreed to spend the night at Wilson's house. The next day, the work on the boat convinced Sarah Wilson not to sell it, so they chose to keep the boat. While sitting next to the boat, Sarah convinced Sam to take on the mantle of Captain America.[3]
