- "It's hard to say, time passes differently here in the TVA."
- ―Mobius M. Mobius to Loki[src]
This is a timeline of events which occurred outside of time and space within the confines of the Time Variance Authority Office.
Distant Past[]
Day of Time Slipping Loki's Arrival[]
- Loki appears in a cell at the Time Variance Authority Office, having been sent by Sylvie Laufeydottir from the Citadel at the End of Time, so that Loki does not interfere with her intentions to kill He Who Remains. Upset, he looks for Mobius M. Mobius, finding him at the library together with Hunter B-15.[1]
- Loki starts to explain how they cannot stop the branches that are appearing and that all the dangerous variants of the man that created the TVA were coming. Mobius asks Loki to calm himself, not knowing who he is.[1]
- Hunter B-15 asks for Minutemen units to deal with Loki, who is stunned when realizing that, instead of the Time-Keepers, the statues across the TVA office are ones with the image of He Who Remains.[1]
- Loki escapes from Mobius, Hunter B-15 and the Minutemen, and when they surround him, he tries to make Mobius remember him. As the Minutemen got ready to prune him, he jumped off the hall, landing on a mail cart. The fall made the driver hit the statue of He Who Remains and crash on the analysis room.[2]
- The crash makes a monitor fall on the ground, making a crack on the TVA logo.[2]
- Loki comes across Casey, and realizes he does not remember him. Casey informs that the intruder is there, but Loki time slips away.[2]
- Having went to and returned from the present, Loki enters into the War Room, decorated with engravings of He Who Remains, and listens to a recording from the end of the Multiversal War, with He Who Remains talking to Ravonna Renslayer.[2]
- Loki time-slips to the Repairs and Advancements area, having arrived from the future, meeting Ouroboros, and describes the phenomenon he is suffering. Ouroboros identifies it as Time Slipping, although he believed it was impossible within the Time Variance Authority Office.[2]
- Ouroboros explains that to fix it somebody from Loki's present would need a Temporal Aura Extractor, and assembles one. Loki asks him to store it until Mobius M. Mobius comes looking for it. The extractor needs to be used in the Temporal Loom, and the dangers it implies, including having to be pruned.[2]
Day of Sylvie's Arrest[]
- Arrest of Loki Laufeydottir:
- A unit of Minutemen, led by Ravonna Renslayer, returns to the Time Variance Authority Office from a now-pruned timeline, with a captive Loki Laufeydottir. She is subjected to the usual procedures for variants, including a scan of her Temporal Aura.[3]
- As her trial is about to begin, Loki manages to to bite Renslayer's hand and steal her TemPad, escaping from the TVA office.[3]
Loki's Recruitment Time[]
The Week before Loki's Arrest[]
- A group of Minutemen are dispatched to a seemingly routine case, not knowing that it was actually an ambush staged by Sylvie Laufeydottir in order to kill them and steal the Reset Charge.[4]
- Five more groups of Minutemen are sent into similar ambushes during the week while the TVA attends their cases.[4]
Day of Loki's Arrest[]
- A group of Minutemen, led by Hunter B-15, is tasked with going to a branched timeline and arrest Loki, the variant causing the branch.[4]
- Having successfully captured him, Loki is taken to the Time Variance Authority Office, where the Tesseract is processed as proof of his transgression of the timeline, and Loki himself is subjected to multiple procedures, including a scan of his Temporal Aura.[4]
- As Loki passes, all variants subject to trial are shown a video by Miss Minutes that explains the history of the Time Variance Authority, including the Multiversal War, the Time-Keepers, the Sacred Timeline, Nexus Events and the purpose of their trials.[4]
- The Trial of Loki Laufeyson starts at the TVA office, presided by judge Ravonna Renslayer, with Loki attempting to make his case, and blaming the Avengers and their Time Heist, while Mobius M. Mobius arrives to hear it.[4]
- Judge Renslayer explains that the Time Heist was supposed to happen and Loki's actions were not, according to the Time-Keepers, and though Loki attempts to use his powers to escape, he is found guilty and sentenced to be reset.[4]
- Mobius asks to speak with Renslayer and requests for Loki to be placed under his custody, with Renslayer that he would be Mobius' responsibility if anything went wrong.[4]
- Mobius takes Loki to the Time Theater room and starts interrogating him to get to know him, also showing bits of his life, or more accurately, the life of his counterpart in the Sacred Timeline. Loki is taken aback when witnessing the death of Frigga.[4]
- Hunter B-15 interrupts the interrogation and takes Mobius outside, leaving Loki alone at the Time Theater. B-15 informs Mobius they had lost yet another unit and they should waste no time in resetting Loki.[4]
- Loki, having stolen the control to his Time Twister, escapes from the room and sees Casey, who had been given the Tesseract prior. He threatens Casey into being given the Tesseract, and sees how Casey keeps many Infinity Stones in his desk.[4]
- Loki realizes that the TVA is the greatest power in the universe, and narrowly escapes from B-15's unit, returning to the Time Theater with the Tesseract.[4]
- Loki sits down to witness his life in the Sacred Timeline, getting emotional at the revelation of Odin's love prior to his death, Thor's compliments while being together in Sakaar and his own death at the hands of Thanos, followed by Thor mourning over his corpse until the file ends.[4]
- B-15 enters the room and they briefly fight. While B-15 has the upper hand, Loki manages to deactivate his Time Twister and strap it on B-15, sending her away.[4]
- Loki, being unable to escape with the Tesseract, sits on the floor, and waits for Mobius to return, finally confessing that he does not enjoy hurting people and only does it because he knows he is weak.
- Mobius offers Loki the chance to help them, explaining that a variant is killing their Minutemen, and it is actually another variant of Loki.[4]
- A group of Minutemen, led by Hunter U-92, is tasked with investigating a branched timeline seemingly caused by a time-traveler wanting to exploit the first vein of oil found in Indian Territory a year prior to its discovery in the Sacred Timeline, not knowing that it was another ambush staged by Sylvie Laufeydottir.[4]
Between Loki's Arrest and the Bombing of the Sacred Timeline[]
- Loki spends days learning about the different concepts of time under Miss Minutes tutelage.[5]
Day of the Bombing of the Sacred Timeline[]
- "We are doing some good work today!"
- ―Mobius M. Mobius[src]
- A group of Minutemen including Hunter C-20 go to 1985 to capture The Variant.[5]
- Mobius M. Mobius gives Loki a jacket, without him knowing that the jacket identifies him as a variant, in order to join a briefing about the latest attack by his variant.[5]
- During the briefing, conducted by Hunter B-15, it was explained that Hunter C-20 was ambushed, and the Temporal Aura signals the perpetrator as the Loki variant.[5]
- Mobius explains that actually, the TVA has reset an amount of Loki variants higher than any other being, displaying some of them and listing the common powers that the Lokis possesses. Loki corrects Mobius, saying that his creation of duplicates is not illusion projection, but an entirely different power.[5]
- Right before leaving, Mobius explains how teams would be organized and while others complain about Loki's presence, he justifies it by stating that TVA agents alone have been unable to capture the variant. To ensure that Loki would not even try to escape, he reminds him of his desire of meeting the Time-Keepers.[5]
- Analysts in the room mark the timeline created by the variant's attack as reset, and Hunter C-20 as Missing in Action.[5]
- Upon their unsuccessful return to the Time Variance Authority Office, Mobius meets Ravonna Renslayer at her office to discuss Loki and their mission, and while Renslayer states that the Time-Keepers are supervising the case and want Loki out, she gives Mobius a last chance.[5]
- Loki, waiting outside Renslayer's office, attempts to give Mobius an excuse for his lie during the mission as a lesson to know how to deal with a Loki. However, Mobius explains why he expects Loki would help him.[5]
- Mobius tasks Loki with reviewing all files regarding the variant for the following couple of hours, and he spends some of them reading file after file, about the different ambushes that ended the same way, with the Minutemen dead and the Reset Charges stolen.[5]
- As Loki gets bored, he goes to the librarian and attempts to ask for the files regarding the creation of the TVA, the beginning of time and the end of time, only to be told that all of them are classified. Loki asks which files he can access, and he is given a folder about his case.[5]
- Loki starts to read the file about the Destruction of Asgard, how the planet was totally destroyed, the civilization was destroyed and there was zero variance energy detected. By reading this, he realizes that an apocalypse would be a place to hide as there was not variance energy produced given the result would be the same no matter the interferences.[5]
- Loki goes to Mobius and explains his theory, with the example of the Ragnarök, and convinces him to take him to an apocalypse by stating how much he loves to be right. Soon after, they both depart to Pompeii, 79 A.D., minutes before the cataclysmic event that destroyed the city.[5]
- Having proven their theory, Loki and Mobius research together the potential apocalyptic events where the variant may have been hiding. Finding nothing, they go for a walk and, for the first time, Loki starts to be interested in getting to know Mobius, by asking about his love for Jet Skis and his role in the TVA's mission.[5]
- Mobius states that the TVA works to establish order and as soon as the Time-Keepers finish untangling time, there would not be any more cases, and everyone would gather at the End of Time.[5]
- One of Loki's quotes reminds Mobius about the frightened child he found while investigating one of the variant's ambushes, and manages to establish a timeframe for the apocalyptic events with the dates of the chewing gum that the variant gave to that child.[5]
- Loki successfully finds the apocalyptic event as a hurricane that killed 10,835 people in Haven Hills, Alabama in 2050, who were sheltered at the local Roxxcart Mall.[5]
- Mobius asks Renslayer to approve an assault mission, as it would be an ideal hiding place full of food and supplies. Renslayer tells Mobius that he should not trust Loki, as she is worried about the finding that apocalyptic events do not produce variance energy. Due to Mobius excitement and confidence, Renslayer finally concedes and approves the mission.[5]
- Mobius informs Loki about the mission and gives him a pair of daggers, only to be taken by Hunter B-15.[5]
- Hunter B-15 conducts a briefing of the mission, explaining the layout of the mall, and tasking the Minutemen to look for the missing Reset Charges, and ordering to reset the variant Loki upon sight.[5]
- Bombing of the Sacred Timeline:
- As the mission in 2050 progressed, analysts witness and inform a massive amount of branches created by the attack of the variant, who had used the Reset Charges to bomb the Sacred Timeline.[5]
- Minutemen are dispatched to the multiple branches created, leaving the TVA Office with less security. Renslayer gets the Time Stick to prepare for the contingency.[5]
- Infiltration into the Time Variance Authority Office:
- Sylvie Laufeydottir arrives at the TVA Office and attempts to enchant the first Minuteman she comes across. Realizing her powers do not work, she engages him in combat and quickly resets him, defeating the whole unit on that corridor.[6]
- Loki follows Sylvie through the same Timedoor and takes his daggers from Hunter B-15's locker.[6]
- Sylvie finds her way to the elevator leading to the Time-Keepers, defeating the Minutemen, but she is confronted by Loki, who attempts to gain her help to take him to the Time-Keepers.[6]
- Sylvie and Loki's fight is interrupted by the arrival of Ravonna Renslayer, but as she is about to attack them, Loki activates Sylvie's TemPad, taking them to Lamentis-1, 2077.[6]
- Mobius takes Hunter C-20 back to the TVA Office in order to get her medical assistance, hoping to speak to her once she recovers and get information about the variant who kidnapped her, Sylvie.[3]
- Renslayer interrogates C-20, who claims that she saw memories prior to working for the TVA and that they are all variants until Renslayer stops the interrogation and its recording.[3]
- Renslayer enters a chamber to speak to the Time-Keepers and she leaves the room upset. Mobius, who is waiting for her outside, requests her to access the rescued Hunter C-20 and gather the information she may have. Renslayer informs him that C-20 had died as her mind had deteriorated quickly upon her arrival.[3]
- As Mobius is at the analyst room, monitoring the Sacred Timeline having magnified the nexus threshold to detect minimal changes, Hunter B-15 returns from the Roxxcart Mall, having found no trace of Loki and Sylvie.[3]
- The analysts detect a branch created when Loki and Sylvie start to connect on a deep personal level on Lamentis-1, and open two Timedoors to the origin of the variant.[3]
- Loki and Sylvie get separated in the TVA Office, while Loki attempts to explain to Mobius that the TVA is not what it seems and is lying to him.[3]
- Loki gets thrown to the Time Cell, when he relives in a time loop the time he got slapped and hit by Sif due to cutting her hair. Once he realizes he is in a time loop almost without time to recover from the hits, the words start to hurt him more.[3]
- Mobius requests Renslayer to interrogate Sylvie while Loki is within the Time Cell, but Renslayer denies his request and asks him to find out what caused such a nexus spike.[3]
- As he gets out Renslayer's office, Mobius passes in front of the door of the Time Theater where Sylvie is being kept, wondering with Hunter B-15 why dealing with these Lokis is so difficult despite having managed other far more dangerous individuals.[3]
- Loki is honest with Sif for the first time, explaining that him cutting her hair was just an attempt to crave attention as he is scared of being alone. Sif does not hit him this time, but she repeats the same quote as the other occasions, that Loki is alone and will always be.[3]
- Mobius goes to the Time Cell and takes Loki to the Time Theater in order to speak with him. He starts taunting Loki's ego by asking how he worked for Sylvie and threatens to throw him to the Time Cell again.[3]
- Loki starts to lie about how Sylvie reached him long time ago and they concocted a plan, with she being his pawn. However, Mobius, seeing through the lie, tells him that they had already pruned Sylvie.[3]
- Through his reaction, Mobius realizes that Loki is in love with Sylvie, and that the nexus spike was caused by them being two variants of the same being starting some kind of relationship with each other. To Loki's relief, Mobius confesses that Sylvie is still alive.[3]
- Loki ends up confessing the truth that Sylvie revealed, that all members of the TVA are variants, and they were kidnapped and had their memories erased, though she can access them with her enchantment.[3]
- Loki is taken again to the Time Cell, not without telling Mobius that he is the worst liar, as he is lying to himself.[3]
- Sylvie was interrogated by Hunter B-15, but she is upset due to what she saw while Sylvie enchanted her, so she opened a TimeDoor to the Roxxcart Mall to ask her about it.
- B-15 is actually convinced.[3]
- Mobius meets Renslayer at her office to sign the paperwork to close Loki's case, and though he asks why he was not allowed to interrogate Sylvie, Renslayer informs him that the Time-Keepers want to supervise Sylvie's pruning and also want him to be present.[3]
- Mobius steals Renslayer's TemPad and goes to the library to check it, watching the file of Hunter C-20's interrogation and realizing that Loki's claims about them being variants were true.[3]
- Mobius goes to break Loki out, saying for the first time to trust him as a friend. However, they are intercepted by Renslayer, who had discovered that Mobius had stolen her TemPad, and while Mobius explains that he would return to his place in the Sacred Timeline, Renslayer orders Hunter D-90 to prune Mobius, and to locate Hunter B-15 when discovering that she had talked to Sylvie.[3]
- Attack on the Time-Keepers:
- Loki and Sylvie are taken to the Time-Keepers, with Sylvie asking Renslayer if she remembered her while on the elevator and while she remembered her, she taunts Sylvie by saying she does not even remember her Nexus Event.[3]
- Loki and Sylvie verbally confront the Time-Keepers until B-15 enters, deactivates their Time Twisters and throws Sylvie her sword.[3]
- While B-15 gets quickly knocked down by the guards, Loki and Sylvie fight them. Sylvie easily kills the guards and confronts Renslayer, ultimately deciding not to kill her and just knocking her unconscious.[3]
- The Time-Keepers attempt to bargain with Sylvie, but she throws her sword and decapitates one of the Time-Keepers, revealing his nature as an android, while the other two are deactivated.[3]
- Loki and Sylvie realize the Time-Keepers were a diversion, and while Loki tries to explain his feelings, he is pruned from behind by Renslayer.[3]
- Attack on the Time-Keepers: Sylvie quickly disarms Renslayer and while she requests to be pruned, Sylvie tells her she is going to tell her everything.[3]
- Sylvie confronts Renslayer at the Time Court, given it was the place where she brought her in as a prisoner in her childhood, and Renslayer informs her that Loki was not killed by being pruned, as the matter belonging to pruned realities is transferred to a place where it would not continue growing, the Void.[7]
- Renslayer convinces Sylvie to return her TemPad, as she wants to know who lied to her about the whole history of the TVA, and who was its actual man in charge.[7]
- Renslayer asks Miss Minutes about the restricted files regarding the beginning of time and the TVA's foundation, but Sylvie requests the ones about the end of time, wondering what would be beyond it. Miss Minutes proposes the use of a prototype ship and Renslayer explains it. As Sylvie and Renslayer agree to use it to find Loki and kill the one who is beyond the end of time, they both shake hands.[7]
- Sylvie does not let Renslayer's hand go while Miss Minutes stalls the search for the files about the ship. Sylvie, having seen through their lie, is ready when the Minutemen barge into the room to apprehend her. As Renslayer tries to persuade Sylvie into giving in, she used a Time Stick to prune herself.[7]
- Renslayer goes to the cell where Hunter B-15 is kept due to her role in aiding Sylvie and Loki, dismissing B-15's demands for all TVA members to know the truth, as Renslayer believed that what the TVA needed was stability.[7]
- B-15 reveals that Sylvie is moved only by revenge, and given that the Time-Keepers were fake, she would be probably looking for their creator, and while Renslayer wants to find him too, Sylvie would find him first as she actually needs it.[7]
- Renslayer requests Miss Minutes to find the files regarding the beginning of time and the TVA's foundation, convincing her by claiming that the founder was in danger.[7]
- Miss Minutes downloads the files that He Who Remains requested onto Renslayer's TemPad, and suggests her to read them when she realizes it was not what Renslayer has requested.[1]
- Mobius goes to Renslayer's office to intercept her, who is surprised to see him alive. Renslayer apologizes for pruning him, as she believed the TVA's mission was more important, but the backup she tried to call had been taken to the Sacred Timeline where they were proven the nature of the TVA members as variants.[1]
- Renslayer argues with Mobius, justifying the need for the TVA, but both feeling that the other has been the one to betray them. As Mobius tries to stop her, Renslayer quickly disarms and takes him down, and leaves while saying that she is going to look for free will.[1]
- Mobius and Hunter B-15 witness the multiple branches created in the Timeline, realizing that there is no turning back for them.[1]
New Mission Era[]
Day of Loki's Return[]
- Loki finally returns to his present at the TVA Office, having been Time Slipping to the distant past, coming across Casey at the same room where he disappeared, and noticing the crack on the TVA logo, he realizes he had been sent to the past.[2]
- Loki tries to locate Mobius M. Mobius and Hunter B-15, but he time-slips away in front of Casey.[2]
- Mobius and Hunter B-15 discuss how to deal with the truth behind the TVA, and decide to reveal that the employees are variants with a life in the Sacred Timeline.[2]
- Casey tells Mobius that Loki had been at the office looking for him, surprising Mobius as Loki had been at the Void. He tries to ask Miss Minutes for help, but she does not work.[2]
- Hunter X-05 arrives and asks Mobius about watercraft, but he soon reveals that the new council, including General Dox and Judge Gamble want to see both Mobius and B-15. Loki arrives again in front of Casey, and he goes to the War Room looking for Mobius.[2]
- Before entering, Hunter D-90 apologizes to Mobius for having pruned him under Ravonna Renslayer's orders, and inside, the council listens to Loki's reveal about the nature of the TVA employees. B-15 explains her decision to stop pruning branches due to the lives at stake. Dox refuses, intending to keep deleting the branches.[2]
- Judge Gamble issues a verdict to officially stop pruning branches, right before Loki's arrival to the room via Time Slipping. X-05 tries to attack him but is stopped by Dox, and Loki grabs the Time Stick to prune the wall and reveal the engravings of He Who Remains.[2]
- Dox enlists Hunter X-05 to find Sylvie Laufeydottir in order to know the truth about what happened at the End of Time.[2]
- Mobius asks Loki about what happened at the End of Time, and he reveals how the death of He Who Remains heralds the arrival of his variants. Mobius inquires about his ability to disappear and Loki explains how Miss Minutes is allied with He Who Remains, so Mobius decides to consult with Ouroboros.[2]
- Loki and Mobius meet Ouroboros at the Repairs and Advancements area, and after a weird introduction, Loki time-slips again. Ouroboros identifies the phenomenon, although he believed it was impossible within the Time Variance Authority Office.[2]
- Ouroboros starts remembering his conversations with Loki in the past, and how he explained that to fix it, somebody from his present would need a Temporal Aura Extractor, and remembers having assembled and stored one. The extractor needs to be used in the Temporal Loom, and the dangers it implies.
- Ouroboros notices the power shortages across the office, and realized that the Temporal Loom cannot deal with the multiple branches to the Sacred Timeline that had appeared. As pruning the branches is no longer an option, he resorts to close the doors to protect the TVA, leaving only one chance to cure Loki's Time Slipping before doing so.[2]
- General Dox and her men assault the armories. Hunter D-90 arrives at the Temporal Loom, and Hunter B-15 leaves them to deal with her.[2]
- Loki accidentally time-slips, this time into the future, leaving the Time Stick he was going to use behind.[2]
- Rescue of Loki:
- Mobius outfits himself with the Temporal Core Suit, and walks across the platform until reaching the Temporal Loom, placing the Temporal Aura Extractor, and activating it. Ouroboros warns him that he needs to close the door, but Mobius wants to give more time to his friend.[2]
- Ouroboros starts to close the doors, and Mobius sadly starts to return. Loki, having been pruned in time, is pulled out of the Temporal Loom, landing over Mobius and pushing him inside the room before the door closes.[2]
- Meanwhile, Dox and her loyalists abandoned the TVA with an arsenal of weapons. Hunters B-15 and D-90 are surprised about the amount of weapons they carry, thinking they try to locate Sylvie Laufeydottir, but do not stop them from leaving.[2]
Day of the Attack on the Branching Timelines[]
- The TVA traces the location of Hunter X-05 through his TemPad, so Loki, Hunter B-15 and Mobius M. Mobius decide to track the signal, it being their only clue to find Sylvie Laufeydottir.[8]
- The group return to the office with an uncooperative X-05, and take him to a cell while bringing his modified TemPad to Ouroboros. As Ouroboros is very busy with fixing the Temporal Loom, he tells them to check the Time Variance Authority Official Handbook.[8]
- Casey updates Hunter B-15 on the status of the search for Ravonna Renslayer, that is very slow due to lacking Miss Minutes' help and having to do it manually, and due to deciphering the last message sent to her TemPad, they conclude that Miss Minutes is actually helping Renslayer.
- Loki and Mobius struggle to analyze the X-05's TemPad, and as they are briefed by Casey and B-15 about Miss Minutes and Renslayer, Loki remembers the recording where Renslayer and He Who Remains talked as if they were partners. Casey easily realizes that the modifications on the TemPad are not to block the TVA's trackings, so they resort to use that finding to interrogate X-05.[8]
- Loki, Mobius and B-15 start interrogating X-05, and while he gets under their skin one by one, Loki attempts to use it to intimidate him. X-05 does not yield, and continues taunting Mobius until he hits X-05, prompting them to leave the room.[8]
- Loki and Mobius end up in the automat, and talk to each other over a piece of pie. Mobius admits that he hit X-05 out of anger, and he does not want to check his life at the Sacred Timeline out of fear it is a good life. As they realize that X-05 was skilled enough to find Sylvie but he did want to return to his life as Brad Wolfe, they concoct a plan to make him talk.[8]
- Ouroboros goes to the Temporal Loom to install his Throughput Multiplier, but the access is blocked due to the need of a specific Temporal Aura, that of He Who Remains.[8]
- Loki and Mobius enact their plan, bringing the Gizmo to torture X-05 without B-15. Loki tricks Mobius out of the room, and activates the device. Without Mobius there, X-05 apologizes for his previous taunts, but Loki creates a Time Cube around him. Loki starts reducing the cube and X-05 confesses having abandoned his post and not knowing about Dox's location but at the end admits having found Sylvie, so Mobius and Loki take him to the branch where Sylvie is living.[8]
- Hunter B-15 takes Casey to Ouroboros at the Temporal Loom so that they could help each other, as the containment doors cannot be open without the Temporal Aura of He Who Remains. Ouroboros tasks them with finding a way to enter the Temporal Loom area.[8]
- Attack on the Branching Timelines: Hunter X-05 is sent back to the TVA office, having revealed Dox's plan, with Hunter B-15 telling Mobius that the plan had already started. The TVA personnel witnesses the pruning of countless timelines, and sends Minutemen to arrest Dox and her loyalists.[8]
- Loki, Mobius and Sylvie arrive at the TVA, witnessing the aftermath of the attack, only to be interrupted by Casey having found the signal from Renslayer's TemPad. Sylvie leaves Loki behind and returns to her new home, while the TVA mourns the timelines, devastated by their failure.[8]
- Loki, Mobius and B-15 go to the Temporal Loom to know the advances that Ouroboros has made. While the branches that Dox pruned helped stabilize the loom, the only solution would be to open the doors and increase the loom's output, so they resort to try and find Miss Minutes to ask for her help.[9]
Day of the Attack on the Time Variance Authority Office[]
- Victor Timely arrives at the Time Variance Authority Office and is amazed by its existence. Loki, Mobius M. Mobius and Hunter B-15 try to convince Timely to help them, but his distrust only increases by the arrival of Sylvie Laufeydottir, who had almost killed him in his laboratory.[10]
- B-15 discusses with Judge Gamble what to do with General Dox, who encourages B-15 to talk to Dox and make her change her mind into protecting the new TVA, just like B-15 changed Gamble's mind.[10]
- Loki, Mobius and Sylvie take Timely to Repairs & Advancements, where they introduce Timely to Ouroboros. They both explain how their work had been influenced by each other's, having created a paradox, and humbly ask the other to autograph their Time Variance Authority Official Handbooks.[10]
- Ouroboros explains using a model the plan in order to fix the Temporal Loom, with one of them having to take the Throughput Multiplier through the platform and launch it towards the loom and increase its width and output. However, Temporal Radiation has increased since Mobius went to the loom to rescue Loki, so it would be even more dangerous.[10]
- Timely offers his assistance, as he had experienced a similar problem with his loom, and has already designed a device to fix it, so they start to work on it.[10]
- Mobius offers Loki and Sylvie to go and get some pie while they wait, which outrages Sylvie as the different branches are dying and they are not doing anything to prevent it. Sylvie also scolds him for not even looking for his own life and how one of the branches could have his own, making Mobius start to think about his life before the TVA.[10]
- Within the cell that now shares with Dox and her loyalists, Hunter X-05 tries to convince them to try to escape and return to their lives, but Dox shuts him up, as he was the one that sold them to the TVA.[10]
- Hunter B-15 speaks to Dox, appealing to her desire to protect the TVA into enlisting their help in case Ravonna Renslayer or something worse attacks, and even though they do not trust each other, they can trust their wish to protect the place.[10]
- Sylvie ends up at the automat, where Loki finds her, and explains how she was unable to kill Timely due to his fear, while Loki explains how he at first thought that the changes that Thor experimented while being banished to Earth made him weak, but they were not. Loki explains that while the TVA has allowed branches to die, the ones that are still alive is thanks to them, and while burning the TVA down would be easy, fixing it and having hope is what is difficult, and the free will comes with the price of having to protect it.[10]
- Attack on the Time Variance Authority Office:
- While X-05 attempts to convince Dox again about not cooperating with B-15, a Timedoor appears, with Ravonna Renslayer and Miss Minutes arriving through it. Renslayer asks for her help into protecting the TVA , but Dox sees through her lies. Renslayer offers them a chance to return to a life in the timeline if they cooperate with her, only convincing X-05. Miss Minutes activates the Gizmo and crushes Dox and her loyalists to death.[10]
- Ouroboros notices how their TemPads do not work, not even Mobius', who had just arrived to check their progress. Intrigued by Mobius' beverage, Timely goes to a hot chocolate machine escorted by Hunter D-90.[10]
- Hunter B-15 arrives to the cell and witnesses the crushed corpses of Dox and her men. She tries to call Mobius, but her TemPad has also been blocked by Miss Minutes.[10]
- Hunter D-90 is pruned by Hunter X-05, who apologizes to his former colleague, and takes Timely to Renslayer's presence, who threatens Timely into revealing the location of his machine.[10]
- Ouroboros realizes that Miss Minutes has blocked their access to the systems, and they rush to get Timely. Loki, Sylvie, B-15, Mobius, Ouroboros and Casey get together and brief each other on their findings, realizing that Renslayer and Miss Minutes have returned to the TVA, and their goal is to take over it.[10]
- Loki and Sylvie get separated when Miss Minutes locks Sylvie inside a elevator, while the others head to the Temporal Loom. Sylvie hijacks the elevator and manages to free herself.[10]
- Attack on the Time Variance Authority Office:
- Loki arrives from the past, realizing he is in the future due to a note that Mobius wrote over a computer. Finding the office in disarray, he desperately tries to locate a Time Stick. Unable to find one before the timer signals the green zone, he follows a phone ringing, and comes across Sylvie.[2][10]
- Present time-Loki realizes this is the moment where he was pruned while he was Time Slipping out of control, so he goes to his past self and prunes him with the Time Stick left behind by Hunter D-90.[10]
- Loki and Sylvie answer the phone, finding Ouroboros at the other side. Ouroboros tells them that he can disable Miss Minutes if he reboots the systems, though he is hesitant as they will lose all security systems. Once he says that it would also disable the magic dampeners, Loki and Sylvie tell them to reboot the system right away.[10]
- Timely stalls by explaining things about the machine to Renslayer, and Miss Minutes gets rebooted in front of their eyes. Ominously, Miss Minutes tells Timely that he will never be He Who Remains. Renslayer sends X-05 to investigate, and Loki and Sylvie ambush him, with Sylvie enchanting the hunter.[10]
- X-05 returns to the room under Sylvie's control, and separates Renslayer from Timely. While Loki and Sylvie grab Victor, X-05 prunes Renslayer, sending her to the Void.[10]
- The whole group gathers at the Temporal Loom, where they make the arrangements to increase the output of the machine. Though initially hesitant, Timely gets scanned so his Temporal Aura can open the doors. Despite Loki offers himself to go through the platform, Timely says it should be him, because he is the one who knows how the multiplier works.
- Ouroboros explains to Timely how he has to put the Temporal Core Suit on, charge the Throughput Multiplier into the Maintenance Probe, push the button and return as fast as possible.[10]
- Timely gets ready and enters the chamber of the Temporal Loom, only to get instantly spaghettified by the Temporal Radiation. The loom, unable to deal with the ever-increasing branches, explodes.[10]
- Loki was time slipped to a "failsafe mode" Time Variance Authority Office. He wandered across its empty hallways and rooms looking for somebody, but there was only a recording announcing the Time-Slipping. He began to erratically time-slip, coming across a version of himself from a few moments in the future, and grabbed a copy of the Time Variance Authority Official Handbook before slipping away as the TVA was destroyed by spaghettification.[11]
Rewritten History[]
- Loki time slips over and over again to the moment they attempted to fix the Temporal Loom, increasing the efficiency of the mission on each attempt.[12]
- He starts to make the final explanations to Victor Timely instead of Ouroboros, helping him get into the suit.[12]
- He goes to the point where Hunter X-05 took Timely to Ravonna Renslayer's presence, grabs him to take him to the Temporal Loom, even asking for Miss Minutes' help.[12]
- He goes to the point where they took Timely to Repairs & Advancements, making his introduction to Ouroboros go faster by pointing how their work had been influenced by each other's. He also gives the explanation that Ouroboros was going to do using a model about the plan to fix the Temporal Loom, finishing everyone's sentences.[12]
- Once Loki realizes he would need to know as much as Ouroboros regarding the engineering behind the TVA, he travels centuries back in time in order to study.[12]
- In a final attempt, having surprised everyone with his advanced knowledge, he warns Timely about all the mistakes he has seen in previous attempts, such as fails within the suit and, especially, having put the Throughput Multiplier on the platform and falling out of it.[12]
- Timely succeeds in sending the Multiplier towards the Temporal Loom and safely returns, prompting the rest of the personnel to clap and celebrate. However, they soon realize that the amount of branches is causing the loom to overload again and explodes. This time, Loki chooses to travel to the End of Time and change the outcome of his encounter with He Who Remains.[12]
- Loki returns from the End of Time, this time to the moment he was first interrogated by Mobius M. Mobius. Loki reveals he knows how the interrogatory would go, and asks for Mobius' help into understanding how to make the tough decisions he has to make. Mobius reveals his last mission as a hunter, where he hesitated in pruning a kid and that resulted in the death of colleagues and other dangerous variants to appear, and how he has to live with the burden of his failures while Renslayer did what had to be done, and now she also lives with her own burden. This conversation led Loki to realize what he actually needed to do, thanking Mobius as he and the rest of the TVA were also destroyed by spaghettification.[12]
- Liberation of the Multiverse:
- Loki returns for the last time to the moment where they attempted to fix the Temporal Loom, but this time he goes to the platform, locks Sylvie and Mobius, and proceeds to go to the loom. Unprotected, he uses his powers to withstand the Temporal Radiation and destroys the Temporal Loom, freeing the branches.
- As the timeline branches start to die, he grabs them to infuse them with life, and opens a rift towards the End of Time, taking all the branches with him.[12]
New Purpose Era[]
Day of Mobius' Resignation[]
- The Time Variance Authority, having reorganized itself into an organization devoted to protect the Multiverse that Loki has given life, and to neutralize the variants of He Who Remains, receives a report about Kang the Conqueror and his defeat by heroes from Earth-616.[12]
- Hunter B-15 arrives to the main room to check on progress, witnessing how Ouroboros and Casey bring Miss Minutes back online, without being able to know if she would rebel against them again. Mobius M. Mobius gives her the file about Kang the Conqueror, telling B-15 that they would meet later at the War Room.[12]
- Mobius checks his own file to learn about his life in the Sacred Timeline, and meets B-15 again, who realizes he is leaving to live a life.[12]
- Hunter B-15 gathers at the War Room with the new leadership of the TVA, comprised by multiple judges, hunters, analysts and all kinds of personnel from across the agency.[12]
- Ouroboros unpacks the new Time Variance Authority Official Handbooks and honors Victor Timely by acknowledging him as its co-author.[12]
