"You've been banished once for nearly exposing us, Khonshu. And you know we despise your garishness, your showy masks, and weapons. But manipulate the sky again and we will imprison you in stone."
―Osiris to Khonshu[src]

Osiris (Ancient Egyptian: wsjr) is an Ennead and the leader of the Ennead Council. He was represented by his Avatar Selim.

Biography[]

Banishing Khonshu[]

As the leader of the Ennead Council, Osiris decided to banish Khonshu to punish him for his continued interactions with humanity that could expose the Ennead, as Osiris considered that they were meant to merely observe and not interfere with human activities, especially since Humanity had mostly turned away from the ancient Egypt religion. Osiris kept observing the world of humans through his avatar Selim.[1]

Trial of Arthur Harrow[]

Osiris speaks through his Avatar

Osiris speaks with Khonshu

"This is not about my feelings! I'm not the one on trial here. He is! This is about how dangerous he is if you would just listen for a second."
"He has committed no offense. This matter is concluded."
Marc Spector and Osiris[src]

Osiris' attention was caught when Khonshu caused a lunar eclipse to summon the Ennead Council. Osiris thus held a gathering of the council inside a secret chamber of the Great Pyramid of Giza, where the other Ennead joined him. Once Khonshu was present through his avatar Marc Spector, Osiris threatened to imprison him should he once again attract unwanted attention onto the Ennead and inquired about his motives, causing Khonshu to accuse Arthur Harrow of plotting to release Ammit.

Due to the gravity of the accusation, Osiris had Harrow directly transported into the chamber and interrogated him. However, Harrow denied the charges and instead claimed that Khonshu was unhinged and that his avatar was ill due to his many personalities. Upon witnessing Khonshu attacking Harrow, Osiris used his powers to stop him. Osiris concluded that Harrow had committed no offense and that he should be allowed to walk free. He then relinquished control of Selim's body.

Osiris imprisons Khonshu into stone

Later, as Khonshu had once again manipulated the sky in order to find the tomb of Ammit, Osiris made good on his promise. Along with the rest of the Ennead Council, he imprisoned Khonshu into an ushabti that was to be kept inside the pyramid.[1]

Harrow's Mission[]

"This chamber is our most powerful place. From here, we need to imprison Ammit in a mortal form."
"A body instead of a statue. She'd be vulnerable. Okay, how do we do it?"
"We need more Avatars than we have left..."
―Osiris and Layla El-Faouly[src]

Osiris later realized the depth of his mistakes when it became apparent that Khonshu had been speaking the truth and that Arthur Harrow was trying to release Ammit. Along with the rest of the Ennead Council, Osiris was confronted by Harrow and the Disciples of Ammit inside the Great Pyramid of Giza and fought through his avatar Selim, but they were eventually defeated by an already empowered Harrow.

Layla and Osiris's Avatar

Osiris tells Layla El-Faouly how to stop Ammit

Since Selim's body had been able to survive, Osiris was able to tell Layla El-Faouly that the only way to stop Ammit for good was to imprison her inside a human body, but that they needed more avatars to do so. With Selim's death, Osiris was left without an avatar on Earth. In parallel, Osiris also allowed Marc Spector to be resurrected from the Duat by opening the Gates of Osiris to him.[2]
