Biography[]
King of Asgard[]
Subjugation of the Nine Realms[]
- "In a campaign of fire and blood, King Odin sought to unite the Nine Realms under the Throne of Asgard. His chief weapon in the conquest that built his empire, his executioner, and first-born daughter, Hela, the Goddess of Death. One by one, the branches of the World's Tree fell under their control."
- ―Watcher[src]
Odin ruled over Asgard as its King and raised a daughter, Hela. While Hela played with Fenris, Odin put a chain on the wolf, telling Hela that she must tame her threats so they could fight for her. At that moment, Odin turned Hela into a fighter and eventually made her his executioner. Together, they set out on a campaign to unite the Nine Realms under Asgard's rule, which entailed a high amount of violence and death.[1]
Banishing Hela[]
Once the Nine Realms were all conquered, Odin, who had also began a relationship with Frigga, had decided to end his campaign and focus now on peace. However, Hela's ambitions grew beyond Odin's so she rebelled against him, attacking him with Mjølnir. Odin caught Mjølnir and destroyed it, telling Hela that she needed an appreciation for life. Odin stripped Hela of her power, removing her crown and then banished her to Earth. Odin enchanted Hela's crown so that it could only be worn if the wearer knew mercy, and then sent it to Earth.[1]
Battle for the Ten Rings[]
Odin was informed by Heimdall that he could no longer see Hela, which lead to Odin believing that his daughter had been killed by the humans. Heimdall revealed to Odin that Xu Wenwu possessed the Ten Rings, stating that they could kill gods. Odin decided that no mortal should wield such power, so he decided to go to Earth and claim the weapons.
Odin arrived in China outside of the Ten Rings Headquarters, where he commenced an attack against Xu. Odin stood at a distance and watched the battle until Hela appeared and helped Xu. Odin joined the battlefield and expressed his surprise at Hela's survival. He then ordered Hela to return to his side, but she refused. This angered Odin, whom Hela called out for casting her out when he no longer needed her as a weapon, despite that being all she was made for in his campaign.
Odin then fought against Hela and Xu, who attempted to separate Odin from Gungnir. Odin commented that he should have locked Hela away rather than banish her. Odin was eventually disarmed by Hela, who attempted to show mercy, but Odin attacked her and questioned her change of heart. At that moment, Hela's crown returned to her, along with her power, and she defeated Odin. Amazed by his daughter's growth, Odin gave Hela the throne, and she used it to liberate the Nine Realms along with the rest of the universe.[1]
Personality[]
Unlike his Sacred Timeline self, Odin never truly grew out of his ruthless and power-hungry ways, remaining a ruthless warlord who sought to conquer the Nine Realms and control them under his rule. He perceives his subordinates as tools to be used in battle, as he tells Hela to control Fenris to be a fighter and uses Hela his executioner throughout his conquest. Upon discovering that a mortal was in possession of the Ten Rings, he decided to travel to Earth to contain the weapons himself. He became furious when Hela refused to rejoin his side and allied with Wenwu instead, and was unwilling to believe that Hela had truly changed her ways and learnt her lesson of mercy, despite that being the very reason he claimed to have banished her for.
Despite his great flaws, Odin recognised that he was wrong when Hela regained her power, understanding that she did in fact learn her lesson, convincing him to surrender the throne of Asgard under better leadership.
Powers and Abilities[]
Powers[]
- Asgardian Physiology: As an Asgardian, Odin possessed all of the various superhuman attributes common among his people, including superhuman strength, durability, speed, agility, stamina, reflexes, healing, and was extremely long-lived. However, as the king of Asgard, his superhuman attributes had far surpassed any Asgardian, even his daughter Hela. Odin's immeasurable levels of power made him the most powerful Asgardian and among the most powerful beings in the Nine Realms and the cosmos.
- Superhuman Strength: As the King of Asgard, Odin possessed immeasurable levels of superhuman strength that is even considerably stronger than any Asgardian, including his daughter Hela. He was able to easily stop and destroy Mjølnir with just one hand. He also had the upper hand against his battle with Hela and Xu Wenwu, only yielding after Hela's power was restored and proved to be merciful.
- Superhuman Durability: Odin had immeasurable levels of superhuman durability. He was near-invulnerable and resistant to powerful energy blasts, immense blunt force trauma, falls from great heights, explosions and various other opposing forces. His durability was far superior than his first born, Hela, being able to take many attacks from her and Xu Wenwu with minimal issue. Even being hit by the full power of all Ten Rings only temporarily knocked him down with little serious damage being dealt. He was also unfazed by the explosion caused by crushing Mjølnir with his bare hand.
- Superhuman Speed: Like all Asgardians, Odin could move at great superhuman speed, being able to keep up with Hela and Xu Wenwu simultaneously.
- Superhuman Agility: Odin, similar to all Asgardians had superhuman agility. He was able to overwhelm Hela and Xu Wenwu with his strength and agility.

- Longevity: Odin, like all other Asgardians, was not truly immortal. It is possible to kill an Asgardian and other beings in the Nine Realms. More accurately, Asgardians were extremely long-lived beings, Odin aged very slowly and was able to live for thousands of years. Even though he was thousands of years old, Odin was still in very good health, greatly belying his appearance.
- Odinforce: Odin was capable of generating and skillfully manipulating his own life force's magical and cosmic energy for a number of powerful effects, such as warping reality. This was called the Odinforce. His power allowed him to effortlessly strip Hela of her own powers and made her mortal. Whilst channeling the Odinforce through Gungnir, Odin is capable of projecting powerful energy blasts that enabled him to destroy most beings effortlessly. He is especially skilled in using his power during combat situations, and was able to overwhelm both Hela and Xu Wenwu for the majority of their fight.
- Dark Magic: Odin was one of the only two Asgardians who had access to dark magic, which allowed him to effortlessly tap into an esoteric energy capable of summoning the Bifrost to transport others through the universe without needing to use the Rainbow Bridge.
- Enchantment: Odin is capable of placing multiple permanent enchantments on items, as he did for Hela's Crown when he exiled his daughter to Earth, while beforehand he was able to summon the crown to his own hand.
