When Matt Murdock and Foggy Nelson graduated from Columbia University, they pooled their money together to buy a bottle of O'Melveny's for their office. They agreed to pour a glass only to celebrate winning a case, and as a result, the bottle lasted them a long time.[1]
Josie kept a twenty-year-old bottle of O'Melveny's behind the counter of her bar. Nelson was aware of this, and informed Kirsten McDuffie of it.[2] Nelson ordered a glass of O'Melveny's due to a break in his case involving Benny Cafaro that would allow his client to be acquitted.[3] Josie then poured from the bottle for them.[2]
When Murdock & McDuffie won the trial of Hector Ayala, Murdock cooked a celebratory dinner for himself and Heather Glenn and served O'Melveny's alongside it.[1]
When Murdock returned to Josie's Bar for the first time since Nelson's murder, Josie poured him some O'Melveny's from the bottle behind the counter. Murdock then realized that Nelson must have ordered O'Melveny's the night of his death because he knew he would win his case, and that he was silenced because of it.[3]
