Jemma Simmons[src]

North Korea, officially the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, is a country in eastern Asia.

History

U.S. Senate Armed Forces Committee

"If you'll direct your attention to said screens, I believe that's North Korea."
Tony Stark[src]

North Korea, along with other countries and organizations from all over the world, tried to develop a suit similar to the Iron Man Armors.

Tony Stark showed a video of some of the failed attempts to the Senate Armed Forces Committee, one of them being North Korea’s, in order to prove that their excuse of the development of similar suits over the world was not an imminent threat that required handing over the Iron Man armor for military application.[1]

Black Market

"It's effective. Not very efficient. But it's a passable knock-off. I don't get it. A little fine tuning, you could have made a solid pay check. You could have sold it to North Korea, China, Iran. Or gone onto the black market. You look like you got friends in low places."
Tony Stark to Ivan Vanko[src]

According to Tony Stark, North Korea could have been one of the potential purchasers of Ivan Vanko's Arc Reactor technology. Though the technology had flaws, such as half of the rotations it could have or an inefficient use in the channelling of ionized plasma, the price would have been high.[1]

Sojourn Enterprises

Richard Frampton, a billionaire and member of the Ten Rings acquired many of the parts required to assemble a Hammer Industries version of the Jericho Missile, hiring an assassin known as Sofia in order to obtain the the targeting software needed for the missile, planning to launch it to North Korea from Russia to destabilize the region.

S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Natasha Romanoff, who was also trying to recover the software without knowing its real nature, was able to track it to the launching site, changing the target of the missiles to their original launch site and killing Frampton in the subsequent explosion.[2]
