Nico Minoru was a powerful witch and a member of the Runaways. She distanced herself from her friends in the aftermath of a confrontation against Morgan le Fay, taking this time to develop her powers. Upon returning to Los Angeles, she was faced with two time-traveling versions of Alex Wilder and Chase Stein, the latter of whom she helped alter the timeline to save Gert Yorkes' life.

Nico grew up with a loving sister named Amy Minoru, who sadly passed away.[3]

Losing a Father[]
When Nico became a Runaway, she started learning the ways of magic and also lost her father. This experience caused her to feel as though she was powerless and needed to master her skills.[3]
Powerless[]
Minoru and the Runaways prepared for a battle in the Hostel against Morgan le Fay. Although Minoru tried, she failed to stop le Fay and it took Gert Yorkes to stop her at the expense of her own life. This caused Minoru to feel even more angry at herself and lack of power, therefore she left everyone without notice and moved away, effectively ending her relationship with Karolina Dean. while away, she trained with a master to become stronger.[3]

Minoru using her new powers
Three years later, Minoru returned to Los Angeles. On the third anniversary of Gert Yorkes' death, she planned on contacting her former teammates to gather them and hold a memorial. However, before she could do it, she heard someone knocking at her door, who turned out to be a future version of Alex Wilder attacking her with his Energy Pistol. However, using her newfound powers, Minoru was able to block the bullet, much to Wilder's surprise.
Minoru meets a future Chase Stein
Minoru then received the assistance of a future Chase Stein, who explained that he came from the future and that Wilder was trying to murder his former teammates. On Stein's request, Minoru gathered all the Runaways at the Hostel to discuss the attack by Wilder. In the process, Minoru had to face Karolina Dean's resentment for leaving her and not giving any news, including of her return. Minoru then suggested to put the current Alex Wilder in quarantine to avoid that he would turn into his evil future self, but her idea was denied by Molly Hernandez.
Instead, Minoru accompanied the Runaways to check on Julie, Dean's girlfriend who could be in danger because of Wilder. Indeed, Minoru arrived in time to stop Wilder from attacking Dean after he had incapacitated Julie. However, Wilder was able to escape nonetheless, leading to an awkward moment when Minoru introduced herself to Julie and realized that Dean had found love with somebody else.
Minoru incapacitates Alex Wilder
Using a time machine provided by Stein, Minoru and the group traveled back in the past, chasing Wilder to the time before the Runaways were assembled for the first time. Arriving at Atlas Academy, Minoru and the version of Wilder she knew monitored their past selves to make sure they were not in danger, until they spotted the future Wilder and chased him down into a bus, where he took another student hostage. Due to the situation escalating with the past Wilder arriving as well, Minoru used a powerful mind-wiping spell to erase the memories of all witnesses and capture Wilder.
As Wilder was taken prisoner to the school's gym, Minoru was accused of having left the group for selfish reasons. She thus had to explain why she departed, mentioning her deep guilt. When asked by Dean why she had not said a word, even to her girlfriend, Minoru explained that she had feared that it would have prevented her from going and that she would have been miserable for the rest of her life, which deeply upset Dean who thought that she could have helped Minoru.[3]
Timeline Altered[]
Minoru then learned that Chase Stein had actually developed his time machine to save Gert Yorkes from her death at the hands of Morgan le Fay. Despite Alex Wilder's warnings that changing the timeline to such an extent would cause their current selves to be erased, Minoru and the other Runaways decided to go with Stein and help him.
Minoru arrives in the Hostel
Therefore, using the time machines, the Runaways transported themselves to the Hostel, shortly before le Fay's arrival. Although Wilder slipped from their hands, they decided to ignore him for the moment, and both Minoru and Karolina Dean decided to find a vantage point so they could watch the battle against the enchantress and intervene if necessary. While hiding from their past counterparts, they overheard their conversation when Minoru apologized to Dean for her actions.
Minoru talks with her past self
Having been remembered this conversation, Minoru decided to have a talk with her past self, although Stein had advised her against it. Minoru told her about her decision to leave the Runaways as she believed that she could not have both love and power, but that she had realized that she was wrong. She thus incited Minoru to remain with her loved ones once the battle would be over, before erasing this conversation from the past Minoru's memories, only leaving it at a subconscious level.
Minoru then rejoined Dean to watch the battle as le Fay had arrived. When Stein came to confront the enchantress, she cast a shielding spell to protect her from the dark magic. However, their position was revealed by Wilder, causing both Minoru and Dean to be hit by le Fay's magic. Despite this setback, however, Stein was able to complete his plan, leading to the Runaways' victory over le Fay with Stein dying in place of Yorkes.
Minoru is erased from existence
Due to the timeline having been altered, the versions of the Runaways that had resulted from Yorkes' death began being erased. As they felt they were disappearing, Minoru turned to Dean, who made her promise that the new version of Minoru would remain with her.[3]
Personality[]
In the aftermath of the Battle at the Hostel, in which her friend Gert Yorkes had died, Minoru found herself torn between two seemingly contradicting sides: her love for her friends and girlfriend Karolina Dean, and her need to power herself up to be able to protect them. Feeling that she could not satisfy both, she decided to leave her friends without telling them, aware that they would resent her for this decision but feeling that it was necessary. The years she spent developing her powers enabled Minoru to become more patient and calm, and she decided to discard her former dark appearance to adopt a more conventional look.
Despite having been away from her for three years, Minoru retained feelings for Dean, and was somewhat upset upon realizing that Dean was now in a relationship with another girl, although she was willing to accept it. However, Minoru eventually realized that she had been wrong, and that she should have stayed with her loved ones to find a solution together instead of distancing herself from them. Not wanting for the same mistakes to be repeated, Minoru decided to use her time-traveling experience as an opportunity for a second chance, leading her to interact with her past self to guide her on the right path.

- Magic: Having taken three years away from her friends, Minoru used this time to considerably develop her powers under the tutelage of a master. She thus became an extremely powerful sorceress, able to wield a variety of spells without even needing to use the Staff of One.
- Levitation: Minoru was able to hover over the ground, which she used during her meditation sessions.
- Telekinesis: Using her magic, Minoru was able to stop a bullet fired at short-range by Alex Wilder's Energy Pistol.
- Binding Spell: Minoru used an incapacitating spell on Wilder under the shape of a large band of luminous crystals around his neck, slowly choking him to stop him from attacking Karolina Dean.
- Memory Manipulation: Minoru was able to instantly erase the memories of Kwan and several Atlas Academy students after they witnessed a confrontation with the future Wilder. She claimed that she was not fond of using such spells due to the Runaways' history with PRIDE. She also erased her past counterpart's memories after talking with her.
- Shielding Spell: Minoru's magic got to a level that she was able to counter the powerful attacks of Morgan le Fay, protecting Chase Stein from the enchantress.
