New York University (NYU) is a private research university based in New York City, New York, United States of America. Their sports team is the Panthers.[1]

Hope Shlottman attended New York University, along with Mei, her roommate. However, Shlottman became mind controlled by Kilgrave and told Mei that she was leaving. Mei then got a new roommate, Raj. Raj began filming an experimental time lapse film as a film student at NYU. Jessica Jones visited Mei's apartment, and Mei told Jones about Shlottman's disappearance.[1] Shlottman was then arrested[2] and killed, causing her to no longer be an NYU student.[3]
Philip Cabroni taught Asian studies at NYU, and encoded a ledger owned by the Hand in exchange for a substantial fee.[4]
