Biography[]
- "You think you can just send your friends after me and put me away? You're too afraid to face me yourself."
- ―Nathan Bowen to Tandy Bowen[src]
This illusion of Nathan Bowen was manifested by D'Spayre during the Battle of Despair, in order to confront Tandy Bowen with what she feared the most. Nathan initially acted nicely towards Bowen, who quickly recalled the abusive husband the real Nathan had been. Nathan tried to defend his behavior, but Tandy refused to listen and attempted to cut his arm with a Lightforce dagger. However, Nathan was mostly unaffected and attacked Tandy.
Despite the illusion being briefly interrupted, Nathan found Tandy again in a recreation of a greenhouse she had already visited. Nathan followed her to a dark room where Tandy and Tyrone Johnson were being confronted by D'Spayre. Nathan was then forced to face Johnson instead of Tandy, returning to the greenhouse. The fight did not go well for Nathan, who was reminded how a terrible man the real Nathan had been to his daughter and his wife.
Repeatedly attacked by Tyrone, who pushed him into a recreation of the former home of the Bowens, Nathan was unable to retaliate while Johnson explained how amazing Tandy was despite her father's nefarious legacy. However, Nathan was once again protected by D'Spayre, who ended the fight and put Nathan back in front of Tandy again, this time in a room of the Viking Motel, where Tandy had nearly been forcibly turned into a prostitute.
Nathan mocked Tandy, accusing her of trying to reject that her father would always be a part of her. He stated that Tandy would not be able to hurt him with a Lightforce dagger, causing Tandy to create a Lightforce sword and point it at Nathan's throat. Nathan then remained unable to attack Tandy, and as he reminded that he would always be a part of her, Tandy countered by stating that he would be far from being the most important part. Nathan then disappeared after Tandy cut out a Z on his shirt with the sword to demonstrate how little he would mean to her.[1]
