- "Homicide. Female suspect found at the scene."
- ―Brett Mahoney to Foggy Nelson[src]
The Murder of Daniel Fisher was an attempt by Wilson Fisk and James Wesley to prevent Karen Page from revealing the truth about Union Allied Construction's money laundering scheme by framing her for killing Daniel Fisher.
Background[]
- "It was coded routing numbers, but we are talking a lot of money."
"What did you do with the file?"
"Well, I told my boss, Mr. McClintock, about it, and he laughed it off. He said that it was a theoretical model that they were screwing around with. I knew something was wrong." - ―Karen Page and Matt Murdock[src]
Establised by Wilson Fisk, Union Allied Construction was heavily involved in the constructions around New York City to mitigate the destruction caused by the Chitauri invasion. Fisk sought to rebuild Hell's Kitchen as he saw fit so he created alliances with various figures from the criminal underworld, while Union Allied was used as one of his money laundering fronts. One day, Karen Page received an email with the file on the company's pension fund but when she looked into it, the numbers were way to big and were constnatly being adjusted. She brought it up to McClintock who insisted that it was simply a theoritical model, but Page was suspcious that he might be involved in embezzling.[4]
Murder[]

Karen Page is arrested by NYPD
- "We had a few drinks, and the next thing that I remember is waking up on the floor of my apartment covered in blood. His blood. No, I'm not stupid. I know how that sounds. But I am telling you, we met at the bar. We had a few drinks. And I don't know what happened after that. It wasn't me."
- ―Karen Page to Foggy Nelson and Matt Murdock[src]
Karen Page met with Daniel Fisher at Three Roads Bar, where she told him about her discoveries regarding the Union Allied Construction pension fund. However, Wilson Fisk and James Wesley found out about it, so they decided to silence both of them to make sure that the nobody else would find out about the money laundering business. While they were drinking at the bar, two of them were drugged and brought to Page's apartment, where Rance murdered Fisher and made it look like Page did it. As she woke up, covered in blood and holding a knife near Fisher's dead body, the New York City Police Department arrived at the scene and arrested Page, although she repeatedly pleaded that she did not do that.[4]
Aftermath[]

Karen Page is approached by Nelson and Murdock
- "Either you're with them or you're not. And if you're with them, then I'm dead already. And if you are not, then I cannot have anybody else die because of me."
"We can protect ourselves, Ms. Page."
"No, you can't. Not from them." - ―Karen Page and Matt Murdock[src]
As a prime suspect in Daniel Fisher's case, Karen Page was brought in to 15th Precinct Police Station, although the District Attorney's Office did not make a call to press charges against her at the moment. She was approached by Nelson and Murdock, who recently opened their law firm and was in need of a client, with Matt Murdock claiming that they would be willing to represent Page pro bono. She told them her side of the story and insisted that she did not kill Fisher, which Murdock believed, so he and Foggy Nelson took her case. However, James Wesley approached Clyde Farnum on behalf of Wilson Fisk and coerced him into killing Page, threatening his daughter if he were to refuse.

Clyde Farnum tries to kill Karen Page
Farnum's attempt to strangle Page in her cell was unsuccessful and the next day, Nelson and Murdock confronted Christian Blake and Carl Hoffman, citing the attempt on Page's life and the lack of official accusation to force them to release Page. Once free, Page talked with Nelson and Murdock on her discoveries regarding the Union Allied Construction's supposed fraud that could be the reason for Fisher's death and became concerned that two of them might be targeted as well. Page was taken by Murdock to his place for safety, but she sneaked out back to her apartment and retrieved a flash drive with the compromising file on Union Allied.
She was attacked by Rance who attempted to kill her and cease the file, but the Masked Man protected her and dumped Rance with the flash drive at New York Bulletin, which allowed Ben Urich to write an expose on Union Allied. As a result, Fisk and Wesley were forced to liquidate the company and get rid of Rance, Farnum and McClintock to get the authorites off their trail.[4] Kirschner and Brown representatives on behalf of Union Allied approached both Page and Jennifer Fisher, urging them to sign an NDA in exchange of a monetary compensation, and although Fisher accepted the offer to support her sons, Page intitially refused.[5] However, she later signed the offer and received the money to support Nelson and Murdock, while working with Urich to get the truth out about Union Allied and Fisher's killers.[6]
