The Ancient One took at least one Kamar-Taj pupil to Mount Everest in order to teach them how to generate a portal using a Sling Ring. In a last-ditch attempt to get Stephen Strange to master the Sling Ring, the Ancient One took him to Mount Everest before leaving to test her pupil. Despite initial difficulties, Strange was able to generate a portal and return to Kamar-Taj.[1]
