Morgan le Fay was a sorceress who tried to merge the Dark Dimension with Earth. However, she was defeated by Gert Yorkes, PRIDE and the Runaways.
Biography[]
Leader of the Coven[]
Manipulating Tina Minoru[]
le Fay wanted possession of the Staff of One, but was stuck in the Dark Dimension, so she befriended a young sorceress, Tina Minoru, in order to manipulate her into getting le Fay the staff. However, Minoru soon realized le Fay's trickery and took the staff for herself.[2]
Rise and Fall[]
le Fay gathered up her Coven at the Essex Tower Hotel where they recited a spell to start bringing the Dark Dimension to Earth. le Fay then arrived at the Hostel where she was immediately shot at by Karolina Dean and Chase Stein. le Fay immediately blocked the attacks and walked down the stairs softly, telling the Runaways how she had already won and they really had two options, surrender or fight, with the latter meaning eternal pain.
le Fay watched as Alex Wilder, Molly Hernandez, Gert Yorkes, Dean and Stein all kneeled to her, just leaving Nico Minoru and her Staff of One. Minoru talked to le Fay until Janet Stein spoke up over the loud speaker, saying that Corvus and the cell towers were shut down.
Immediately, le Fay felt the power diminish from her as she collapsed to the ground. The Runaways then stood triumphant, revealing it was simply a trick to allow Janet time. le Fay got up and angrily blasted the Runaways, which was blocked by Minoru. le Fay overpowered Minoru and eventually engulfed her until Dean stepped in and tried to help Minoru, but it was no use. le Fay blasted them both away, knocking Minoru out. le Fay slowly approached Dean and used magic to cause her pain. le Fay explained that she could not let Minoru have distractions. She then wound up to kill Dean until Hernandez and Yorkes arrived.
An annoyed le Fay then blasted the two sisters back, knocking out Hernandez and causing Yorkes to fly into the chandelier. Yorkes stood up though and started scolding le Fay for her uniform among other things. She then looked down and showed le Fay that she completed a circle of salt, meaning le Fay was trapped. le Fay banged on her new box, and said they could not keep her in there forever. Tina Minoru then walked out, saying they were sending her back, and cast a spell to transport le Fay. She was banished to the Dark Dimension, turning into dust in the process.[2]
Legacy[]
In the aftermath of le Fay's defeat and Yorkes's sacrifice, the Runaways disbanded, the remaining members going their separate ways. However, Chase Stein was overcome with grief and devoted years of his life to building a time machine with the help of Alex Wilder and the Abstract, intent on using it to save Yorkes.
Eventually, Stein successfully constructed a time machine but came into conflict with Wilder, who had turned against the Runaways and intended to kill them using the time machine. Stein followed Wilder through time and prevented him from killing alternate versions of the Runaways, who joined him on his mission and time-travelled to le Fay's confrontation with the team. There, Stein was able to save Yorkes by taking her place and sacrificing himself to banish an alternate version of le Fay, changing history and erasing le Fay from existence.[1]
