Monica Rambeau joined the new lineup of Avengers to fight in the Gamma War when the original team were all killed. Using mechanized battle suits, the Avengers were able to chase away the Gamma Beasts. Ten years later, several cities were attacked by Gamma Beasts, so the Avengers had a meeting to discuss their next moves. Rambeau suggested contacting Bruce Banner, but Captain America shut down the idea. Instead, Rambeau joined Captain America to the Arctic, where they discovered thousands of Gamma Beasts following the orders of the Apex.
Having tasked Winter Soldier with tracking down Banner, Rambeau was informed of his location on the Astra Islands. Rambeau told Captain America of Banner's location and convinced him to ask for his help. Rambeau assembled the rest of the Avengers and headed for New York, where the Gamma Beasts where approaching. Captain America contacted the team and revealed the Mighty Avenger Protocol. When he arrived, they formed the Mighty Avenger and fought off waves of Gamma Beasts. However, when the Apex emerged, they were defeated. Rambeau watched as Banner arrived and transformed into Mega-Hulk to defeat the Apex. Rambeau prepared to fire upon Mega-Hulk, but Captain America was able to get him to stand down, and the Gamma Beasts left for Astra Islands.[1]
