Multiverse Discovered
"He discovered that there were universes stacked on top of his own..."
The subject of this article comes from an alternate universe connecting to the main timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This universe is designated as "Time-Traveling Runaways".

Molly Hayes Hernandez[3] was the head of Atlas Academy's dance squad and a member of the Runaways. Although she was used to living with Chase Stein at the Hostel, she later encountered another future version of him, who she helped as he attempted to stop a future Alex Wilder to kill the Runaways. Upon learning that Stein actually meant to travel into the past to prevent Gert Yorkes' life, Hernandez, who missed her adoptive sister dearly, decided to help him. She subsequently took part in a recreation of the Battle at the Hostel during which the Runaways succeeded, causing Hernandez to be erased as a new path opened to her past self.

Biography[]

Early Life[]

Orphaned[]

Molly was born to Gene and Alice Hernandez, who were apart of PRIDE. When she was very young, her parents were killed by PRIDE in an explosion. However, during the explosion, Molly was exposed to the Gibborim Rock, giving her powers. She was then adopted and became sisters with Gert Yorkes.[2]

Runaway[]

Losing a Sister[]

During the Battle at the Hostel, Morgan le Fay attacked the Runaways leading to Gert Yorkes' death despite being the hero to defeat le Fay. This caused tremendous grief upon many of the Runaways, specifically Chase Stein and Hernandez.[2]

Return to Life[]

Hernandez still wanted to stay at the Hostel with Chase Stein, who started becoming obsessed with the idea of Time Travel in order to bring Gert Yorkes back. This caused him to spend all of his time into room, angering Hernandez. She also enlisted back at Atlas Academy. By 2021, she had become the captain of the dance team like she always wanted.[2]

Time Travel[]

"Thanks for believing in me, Molly."
"I believe in you now. Your future self, I'm not so sure about."

Later that day, Hernandez was reunited with her fellow teammates, including Nico Minoru, who had returned after a three years absence and who Hernandez was delighted to see again. Hernandez learned from a future Chase Stein that the Runaways were all in danger because a future Alex Wilder meant to kill them all. Although Minoru suggested to put the current Alex Wilder in quarantine, Hernandez rejected the idea, stating that she believed in him and that they could not judge him for a crime he had not yet committed.

Hernandez accompanied the Runaways to the place where Karolina Dean resided with her girlfriend Julie, arriving in time to stop the future Wilder from harming both Dean and Julie. While Julie regained her senses and Stein tracked down Wilder after he got away, Hernandez confirmed Dean's new relationship status to Minoru, explaining that Dean could not reasonably have waited for Minoru for three years as Minoru never contacted the Runaways while she was away.

An emotional Hernandez sees her sister

Since Stein had located Wilder in another time, on the day before the Runaways found out the truth about PRIDE, Hernandez was given her own time machine to travel through time. She and the rest of the group activated the device, an experience which Hernandez was fun, and arrived at the past Atlas Academy, where Stein instructed the Runaways to watch over their past counterparts. Hernandez found her past self, and began feeling very emotional upon seeing her interacting with Gert Yorkes and talking about her wish to join the school's dance squad.

Hernandez later took part in the chase of Wilder, who was taken aboard a bus. She watched as Wilder took another student hostage, but the situation was defused by Minoru, who used a spell to wipe the memories of all witnesses and to capture Wilder, who was taken to the school's gym. There, Minoru reiterated her idea to have the current Wilder put in quarantine, but Hernandez once again refused, considering it immoral, leading Stein to suggest sending back the current Wilder to his own time to avoid interactions between the two versions of them.

As the other Runaways prepared to follow, Hernandez learned that Stein actually planned on jumping further into the past and return at the time of the Battle at the Hostel in order to prevent Yorkes from dying. Hernandez, who deeply missed her adoptive sister, decided to help Stein at all cost, and although he initially refused and the future Wilder warned them that succeeding in this endeavor would change the timeline and cause their current counterparts to be erased, Hernandez and her friends chose to accompany Stein.[2]

Sister Back[]

"I got my sister back. It's like the best feeling ever."
―Molly Hernandez[src]

Therefore, Hernandez and the rest of the group time traveled again and arrived at the Hostel on the night of the battle against Morgan le Fay. They discussed who should take Gert Yorkes's place, with Hernandez suggesting to be the one due to her superhuman strength, but Chase Stein insisted to do it himself. As the battle against the Coven had begun, Hernandez noticed the future Alex Wilder near his past self's desk and decided to go after him. She then knocked him unconscious from behind as he pointed Karolina Dean and Nico Minoru to le Fay.

Hernandez is erased from existence

Hernandez then returned to Minoru and Dean and watched the rest of the battle, and thus witnessed Stein's success in closing the magical circle around le Fay, enabling Tina Minoru to banish her back to the Dark Dimension while preserving Yorkes' life, albeit at the cost of his own life. Bursting into tears of joy, Hernandez felt incredibly happy at the idea that her sister had been saved, even if it meant that she would have to vanish. Hernandez then peacefully waited with Minoru and Dean until their versions were progressively erased from existence.[2]

Personality[]

Much like her past counterpart, Hernandez was a lively young girl, expressing enthusiasm on many occasions, including the weirdest ones. As such, while all other people seemed to feel nauseated after using Chase Stein's Time Machine, the experience left her laughing. She acted very nicely towards her friends, including the members of her dance squad at Atlas Academy who declared that they would miss her after she left the school. She also had a strong sense of justice, refusing that the version of Alex Wilder she knew to be put in quarantine for the simple reason that his future counterpart was a criminal.

Despite this bright personality, however, Hernandez remained deeply saddened by the loss of her adoptive daughter Gert Yorkes. She insisted to Chase Stein that they should spend some time together in her memory and, upon learning that another version of Stein was trying to save Yorkes' life, she decided to risk everything, including her own life, to help him succeed.
