Hey y'all! Looking for another Variant of Mister Immortal? See their character hub!

"Didn't you say your name was Craig Hollis?"
"It is. But I go by Mister Immortal. It's pithier."
Mallory Book and Mister Immortal[src]

Craig Hollis is a man with an accelerated healing factor that prevents him from dying, leading him to go by the name Mister Immortal.

Biography[]

Married Life[]

Marrying Baroness Cromwell[]

"I still have all of those Apple shares I bought in 1981, plus all the gold left to me by my first wife, Baroness Cromwell."
―Mister Immortal[src]

Craig Hollis met and married Baroness Lily Cromwell. In 1981, he bought several shares of Apple. After a while, he separated from his wife, but kept some of her money.[1]

Faking His Deaths[]

"Are you saying that instead of having a conversation with your wife, you kill yourself to get out of the relationship?"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, I don't kill myself. I'm immortal. So, I can't die."
Mallory Book and Mister Immortal[src]

Hollis had many marriages to Cheryll, Amy, Taylor, and Sebastian. Each time after he got bored, he would fake his own death, leaving them to fend for themselves, thinking that he was dead. He used fake aliases each time and manipulated them, even leaving his own kid behind.[1]

Legal Issues[]

Craig Hollis (Mister Immortal)

Hollis meets Mallory Book and Nikki Ramos

"Not only did you fake your own death multiple times, but you also forged multiple fake identities. Frankly, all of these spouses should be filing criminal charges. You are lucky you're not in prison."
"I will never understand women if I lived to be a... And I will."
Mallory Book and Mister Immortal[src]

When his identity and superpowers were exposed on Intelligencia's website, Mister Immortal sought the legal services of Goodman, Lieber, Kurtzberg & Holliway to prevent his ex-spouses from depleting his finances. He met with Mallory Book, his attorney and Nikki Ramos. He told them the deal and how he had the power to regenerate after death.

Book and Ramos heard of Hollis' problems and judged him, leading Hollis to remind them that lawyers were not supposed to be judgy. They started talking loudly, so Hollis became nervous and got up from the chair. He took his hat and sprinted out, crashing through the window and falling onto a Higman Security car. He then used his powers to regenerate and got up, much to the surprise of nearby people.

Hollis comes to an agreement

Hollis was summoned back by Book to meet with his ex-wives and ex-husband Sebastian. He mentioned how he still had some of the Apple stock and gold left from his first wife. Hollis tried to leave when his ex-spouses start to argue, but Book stopped him and they all eventually came to an agreement. They would receive shares and equal shares of Cromwell's gold, plus a sincere apology with eye contact for twenty seconds.[1]

Personality[]

"I'm a good guy. I don't wanna hurt anybody's feelings. But you know, inevitably, things go stale. But that is a tough conversation. 'I don't want to be married to you anymore. I find that you are emotionally suffocating me, and you wear weird pajamas.' Can you blame me for walking out into traffic during rush hour and putting an end to the whole issue right there?"
―Craig Hollis to Mallory Book[src]

Craig Hollis is a friendly man who doesn't like to hurt people. However, he has a warped sense of how to end a marriage without hurting his wife/husband, believing that faking his own death and faking a new identity is a healthy way to end relationships.

Hollis also seems to be unable to properly deal with frustration and stress, trying to do anything to get out of the situation, this includes suicide. Hollis also faked his own death to evade responsibility, such as committing suicide when his credit card bill was delivered.[1]

Powers[]

"You saw this man walk into a busy intersection and then he gets hit by four different cars. His body regenerates and then he just gets up and walks away."
Amy[src]
  • Retroactive Immortality: Hollis can be killed but cannot be kept dead, usually resurrecting almost immediately after death. Hollis threw himself from a building at a gigantic height, but rebounded soon after.
    • Regenerative Healing Factor: Hollis can regenerate from extremely fatal wounds in a few seconds right after resuscitating. Hollis regenerated several broken bones within seconds after jumping from a gigantic height.

Trivia[]

  • In the comics, Mister Immortal is a member of the Great Lakes Avengers and the only member of the species Homo supreme, which is a step beyond Homo superior (mutants) in the same way mutants are considered a step above humans. Despite this, he still identifies as a mutant.

Behind the Scenes[]

  • A different iteration of Mister Immortal was previously supposed to be introduced in New Warriors, portrayed by Derek Theler.[3] However, after Freeform dropped the show from its scheduled programming, it failed to find a new network and was eventually canceled.[4]
