Biography[]

Ambush at The Rearview[]

Tony Stark went to The Rearview and saw Mike Charles working on a car. Stark called out for an employee while Charles was working on a car, and he greeted Stark, saying that he was covered in oil. Stark said that he did not trust clean mechanics and began to ask for a part, when Stark's car suddenly exploded. A group of mercenaries began firing at Stark and Charles, who hid behind a car. Charles then recognized Stark as Iron Man, and the mercenaries approached as Stark explained to Charles that his armor was at home and he could not retrieve it. They ran to Charles' car, and Stark said that he would drive, but Charles said that Stark's car blew up and therefore Charles would drive.

Charles lent Stark his cell phone and called Potts, asking her to ready his armor. Stark pulled up a map on Charles' phone and asked him to turn left, despite Charles recognizing that it was the opposite direction from Stark's mansion. Charles made the turn and came across a parade for the policeman's auxiliary, where Stark took a picture of the mercenary's license plate and began checking it from his home network. Stark had Charles turn and pass two actresses so that the fight could be witnessed as a cover for Stark missing dates he had scheduled tonight. Charles scolded Stark for not taking their situation seriously, but Stark proceeded not to. Stark then had Charles drive to a bridge that was closing, and Charles had to make his truck jump over the gap. Stark complimented Charles' phone and suggested that he could control his armor with one.

Stark told Honey to reward Charles and got his armor. He brought back Jenkins, the leader of the mercenaries, and Charles demanded that Jenkins pay for the damage to his shop, despite Jenkins being unconscious. Stark said that he cancelled the dates he had planned, and Charles pointed out that that would make the women mad. Stark then revealed that he was aware and for that reason gave them Charles' phone number.[1]
