Michael "Mike" Bashille was a former Anvil contractor who was approached by Billy Russo for a mission to take out Frank Castle.

Serving with the United States Marine Corps, Bashille eventually reitred and signed up with Anvil under Billy Russo's command.[1] Together with Tom Weems, Spencer Geiger and Jim Pruitt, Bashille was sent on an assignment to provide security to the American diplomats in Iraq. However, the four of them ended killing several civilians in public, which was recorded and the footage was uploaded on YouTube. Following an international incident, the United States Department of State issued a warrant to apprehend Bashille and others, forcing them to leave Anvil and go on the run.[2]

While hiding from the authorities, Bashille was contacted by Billy Russo, along with Tom Weems, Spencer Geiger and Jim Pruitt. Meeting with Russo in New York City, Bashille and the others were offered to participate in a covert operation led by him, aimed at eliminating a certain target. Russo noted that while he could not do anything about the United States Department of State coming after them, each of them would be paid $500,000, which would allow them to leave the United States and relocate to a country with no extradition. Bashille and the others ended up accepting the offer and joined Russo to prepare for the operation.[2]

With Billy Russo leading them, Bashille and the rest of the team arrived to the Abandoned Warehouse in a van, checking their gear and weapons before concealing their faces with masks and proceeding. Bashille and the team entered the seemingly empty warehouse, checking everywhere for their target. However, they found themselves in a trap, as a group of Homeland Security agents led by Dinah Madani and Sam Stein emerged from their positions and ordered them to surrender.
Bashille gets taken out by Sam Stein
As Russo shot one of the agents, a firefight broke out, so Bashille and the team took their positions and opened fire at Homeland Security. As both sided exchanged gunfire, Russo ordered to take everyone out, so Bashille moved forward and pinned Madani and Stein down with suppressive fire. As the firefight progressed, Madani ordered the agents to move and advanced forward, Stein provided cover for her and shot Bashille in the head.[2]
