Miguel attended classes at Coles Academic High School, where he became good friends with Paul.^[2] The next day, he and Paul listened to Zoe Zimmer narrating her encounter with the new superhero Night Light.

Miguel also had quite a crush on classmate Nakia Bahadir. Days later, during a party held at Zimmer's house, Miguel kept following her until she met with Kamala Khan and Bruno Carrelli. As Bahadir wanted to leave, Miguel insisted that they should stay, causing them to watch Kamran take a deep dive into the pool, which impressed both Bahadir and Khan. Due to the party being interrupted by the police's arrival, Miguel got into Kamran's car with Bahadir, Khan, Carrelli, and Paul, and they parted ways once they arrived at Circle Q.^[3]

Miguel's persistence eventually paid off, as Bahadir seemingly accepted to date him. One day when he visited her at the Islamic Masjid of Jersey City, he was hidden in a closet by Bahadir out of fear that her mother would discover who she was dating. Miguel was found instead by Sadie Deever as Damage Control was looking for enhanced individuals, and he bragged to the operatives how Bahadir called him his boyfriend, even asking whether one agent had a body cam that could have recorded the moment.

That night, while hanging out with Paul, Miguel saw Zoe Zimmer’s feed on social media indicating that she and her friends were surrounded by Damage Control. Miguel thus went to Coles Academic High School and joined the crowd, recording the scene on his phone. He then watched in complete shock as Kamala Khan fought against Damage Control and, after she allowed Kamran to escape, he joined in the efforts to shield her from Damage Control, thus enabling her to flee the scene as well. Afterwards, Miguel narrated the whole episode on social media, although he preferred to focus on how he could not believe Bahadir proclaimed herself as his girlfriend.^[1]
