Its events instead occur in another reality within the Multiverse. This universe is designated by the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki as the "Midgard Serpent Ragnarök Universe".

Jormungand, more widely known as the Midgard Serpent, is a beast that is prophecized to bring about Ragnarök.

Biography[]

Asgardian Legend[]

According to Asgardian legend, the Midgard Serpent resides at and feeds off of the roots of Yggdrasil. It is said to consume all of the Nine Worlds once Ragnarök befalls the universe.

Knowing of the Midgard Serpent's legendary status, the Sorceress created a life-like illusion of the beast to assist in her Sacking of Asgard.[2]
