Zachary "Zack" Smith, Jr. is a man with the power of Microbial Communication and is a superhero the alias: Microbe. As a member of the New Warriors, he became an enemy of Ernest Vigman.

Biography[]

Zack Smith discovered he had the power of Microbial Communication and at some point gained the superhero alias "Microbe".[1]

He joined the team New Warriors and started living and working together with his teammates: Squirrel Girl, Mister Immortal, Night Thrasher, Speedball and Debrii.[2] The team "took him under their wing" and helped him find and grow his own confidence.[1] They eventually came into conflict with municipal authorities and Ernest Vigman.[2]

Zack Smith is a shy hypochondriac. He’s a sweet guy and the team "taking him under their wing" helped him to find and grow his own confidence.[1]

Powers[]

  • Microbial Communication: This power nearly makes him a telepath, the germs tell him where you’ve been, what you ate and who you hung out with. It’s impossible to keep secrets around him.[1]

  • In the comics, his father wanted to use his powers to cure an uncurable disease, however once he realized that all Microbe did was give orders to the germs, he disowned him. Microbe was then taken in by Night Thrasher who trained him to join the New Warriors. However, he would often get in the way of the more experienced heroes. Despite this, he was a great help in his final battle before dying in a explosion caused by the villain with the most of the rest of team.
