"Charming. Love the Cold War aesthetic."
Agatha Harkness to Wanda Maximoff[src]

The Maximoff Residence was the place of living of Olek, Iryna, Pietro, and Wanda Maximoff in Sokovia.

History[]

Novi Grad Bombings[]

"When the first shell hits, two floors below, it makes a hole in the floor. It's big. Our parents go in, and the whole building starts coming apart."
Pietro Maximoff[src]

In 1999, the Maximoff family was preparing for their movie night while the fighting continued outside their apartment. Eventually, the Maximoffs would sit together to watch The Dick Van Dyke Show, though their apartment would collapse due to the combat outside. As Wanda awakened, Pietro would pull Wanda under their bed as two Stark Industries mortar shells landed in front of them. Pietro exclaimed that they needed to escape, though Wanda knew that she could stop the explosions. As The Dick Van Dyke Show continued playing on their television, Wanda would use a probability hex to stop the shells, though she originally though that they were defective.[1] Wanda and Pietro would stay in their apartment for two days until they were rescued. This would ultimately lead the two to hate Tony Stark and Stark Industries.[2]

Harkness' Illusion[]

Shortly after Wanda Maximoff discovered the true identity of Agatha Harkness, Harkness wanted to discover how Maximoff got her magic. Pulling a hair from Maximoff, Harkness used it to create an observable timeline of important events in Maximoff's life. Harkness and Maximoff would travel to an illusion of the Maximoff family's apartment as it presented the events leading up to Maximoff's hatred towards Stark. Harkness would explain that Maximoff used a probability hex to stop the mortar shells, though she needed to know more about Maximoff's past.[1]
