The Massacre of the Iron Gang was an attack on the Iron Gang caused by Xu Wenwu as revenge for killing his wife.
Background[]
Xu Wenwu and Ying Li began falling in love with each other even though they met as enemies while the former was searching for Ta Lo, and Ying Li even taught Wenwu how to use and manipulate aerokinesis. As the years passed, the two eventually got married and gave birth to their children, Shang-Chi and Xu Xialing. However, the Iron Gang was still at war with Wenwu and decided to invade the Ten Rings Headquarters in order to assassinate Wenwu.
Once the Iron Gang arrived at the base, they found Ying Li with Shang-Chi and Xialing instead of Wenwu, demanding that Wenwu be brought out. As Ying Li directed her children away from the oncoming fight, the Iron Gang killed her instead, enraging Wenwu. Ying Li's death prompted Wenwu to take up the rings once more and enact revenge on the Iron Gang.[1]

Xu Wenwu managed to track the Iron Gang to the gang's mahjong parlor, taking Shang-Chi with him as part of his training. Confronting the group, Wenwu went towards the table where the members of the Iron Gang were, smashing it to the floor.
Xu Wenwu accomplishes his revenge
Picking them off one by one, Wenwu used the rings to kill them as Shang-Chi watched by the entrance. The final member of the gang tried to plead for his life, but Wenwu killed him as Shang-Chi was left in shock.[1]
Aftermath[]
Xu Wenwu started training his son, Shang-Chi to become a great warrior with the help of his right-hand man, the Death Dealer. Despite, his daughter, Xu Xialing wanting to be trained as well, Wenwu declined doing so as she was a girl. As such, over time the relationship between Wenwu and his children would become strained as Shang-Chi and Xialing would leave the Ten Rings in order to escape from their father's rule, pursuing their own lives miles apart.[1]
