The Maria Stark Foundation was founded in honor of Maria Stark.

Omar challenged Tony Stark to race his Iron Man armor in Dubai against Omar's own invention. Stark won the race and broke a sign owned by Omar's company, prompting Omar to threaten to not donate to the Maria Stark Foundation, breaking their agreement. However, Stark encouraged him to protect his image by following through on their deal.
