Ward Meachum set up a business plan to talk about the Leishmaniasis cure. Danny Rand barged in, having just been integrated into the company. Rand had other issues. He claimed that they shouldn't profit off a cure because people are dying without it. Due to his newfound priority status, the shareholders had to listen.[1]
When Regina Fitzgerald filed a lawsuit claiming her son got cancer because of a Rand power plant, the company proved they didn't do anything illegal. However, Danny Rand assured Fitzgerald he would make things right. This was captured on video and showed that the company is refusing to take responsibility. Ward announced that they aren't settling, but taking them to court. Rodriguez and the others disliked this as it wasn't in the company's best interest. However, Joy Meachum defended her brother, claiming he had never let the company down in the past.[2]
Removal of the Meachums[]
With a defiant Danny Rand taking control over business decisions and unwilling to take back his prior actions, Rodriguez and others had an emergency meeting and came to the unanimous vote to boot Rand and the Meachums from the building.[3]
This vote, however, was reversed when she and others were informed of the suicide of Lawrence Wilkins, forcing them to bring Joy Meachum, Ward Meachum, and Danny Rand back to operating business.[4]
