World War II[]
After being chosen for Project Rebirth and becoming Captain America, Steven Rogers, along with Bucky Barnes and Dum Dum Dugan, began to face the forces of Hydra.[1]
Liberation of Allied Prisoners of War[]
Invading the base of Hydra leader Red Skull, who recently acquired the Tesseract. Steve and Bucky, shot down Arnim Zola's cannons before climbing up, eventually reaching Red Skull's office, where he and Zola fled. Steve and Bucky pursued Red Skull and Arnim Zola, with Captain America and Red Skull eventually coming face to face. Steve faced him face to face.[1]

Upon discovering that Arnim Zola was on a Hydra train, the Howling Commandos attempted to storm the train, with Dum Dum Dugan falling out of the train. Steve and Bucky entered after fighting a large number of Hydra Forces on the train's roof, only for Bucky to be knocked off his feet by an explosion and fall into a chasm, presumably dying.[1]
Battle in the Valkyrie[]
Managing to invade the Valkyrie, Steve faced Red Skull head-on, and singing victory, the villain tried to control the Tesseract's power, but ended up being consumed by it and disappeared. Steve had to stop the plane, so he threw it into the sea, leaving it frozen for the next few years.[1]
