Lowak was an ancestor of Maya Lopez as well as a member of the Choctaw tribe who led her team to victory in the Ishtaboli Tribal Match with help from her echoing ancestors. Once she passed, Lowak was able to do the same with her descendants, helping them in times of need.

Saving Her Tribe[]
In 1200 A.D., Lowak took part in the Ishtaboli Tribal Match. It was the Choctaw vs. the Cherokee. During the match, Lowak caught the ball and spun around a defender before stopping dead in her tracks to pass the ball to Tvli for the score. She clapped her sticks together as the Choctaw went up five points to one. She told Tvli that all they needed was ten points. Suddenly, tensions grew high as everyone heard war cries coming towards them. Out came Totsuwa, the fiercest competitor of the Cherokee. Without fear, she walked up to Totsuwa, saying she will beat him.
The next point then started and the ball found itself in the middle of a circle. Lowak tried to get it, but Totsuwa grabbed it, pushed Lowak out of the way and scored. Lowak grunted in anger, but was held back by Tvli, who reminded her that the loser would get banished from the land. Lowak went back into the game, but was easily overtaken by two defenders, causing another opposition's point. On the next one, the pass to Lowak was intercepted by Totsuwa, causing Lowak to stomp in frustration. This kept going on until the match was tied.
On the next point, Lowak was pushed to the side by Totsuwa. In anger, Lowak punched the ground before charging back into the pile. She found her way around the pile and took a pass from Tvli before rushing down the field, dodging incoming opponents. Right before getting to the goal, she was grabbed and pulled back into a circle. She fought hard to get the ball when she suddenly saw a vision of her ancestor, Chafa. Lowak looked at her palms, which now glowed. Using this new strength, she was able to the out of the pile and score, allowing her team to win.[1]
Legacy[]
Echoing[]
- "All I ever heard growing up from my dad was how you destroyed this family. How you wanted nothing to do with us."
"I couldn't bear to be around you. You're so much alike. And I think generations are echoing... reaching out to us. At a time when we need them the most." - ―Maya Lopez and Chula Battiest[src]
Throughout many generations, Lowak's ancestors would feel her echoing to them, much like Chafa did for her. When Tuklo was unable to prove to her father that she could be a part of the Lighthorsemen, Lowak and Chafa reached out to her, giving Tuklo the strength to find the enemies capturing the lighthorsemen and then killing them all, becoming a hero.[2]
When Chula Battiest was delivering her baby, she was struggling due to complications. However, she was able to find strength to survive through Chafa, Lowak and Tuklo, who echoed to her.[3] By 2025, Maya Lopez started seeing the visions. While planting a bomb in container DX-9, she saw a vision of Chafa and Lowak, making her hands glow.[1] This continued on with no explanations until she talked to Battiest, who told her about her own experiences.[3]
Finally, Lopez got the full explanation from an illusion of her mother, Taloa, who explained that all of the ancestors were echoing through them, giving them strength. Lopez used this strength to echo the ancestors to Battiest and Bonnie during a confrontation with Kingpin. Lowak and the other ancestors then showed unity as they defeated Fisk.[4]
