"But to those who knew them best, they were simply known as Love and Thunder."
Korg[src]

Love is the biological daughter of Gorr the God Butcher, whose death by starvation triggered her father's murderous crusade against all gods for forsaking them. She was ultimately resurrected by the cosmic entity Eternity in accordance with Gorr's wish, brought on by Thor's advice. She was left in the care of Thor by Gorr before he died, leading her to become Thor's ward and adoptive daughter. The pair began protecting alien species, becoming known to many as Love and Thunder.

Love becomes sick due to starvation

Love was the young daughter of a devout alien named Gorr, who cared deeply for his daughter, and lived on Rapu's Planet. Their planet was in a state of decay, with much being a barren inhospitable wasteland, bringing death and suffering to their people. Love was growing weak and dying from starvation, and unable to walk alone, so she was carried by her exhausted father as they roamed the barren void of the desert in search of life.

However, Love soon succumbed and perished, which drove her father to sorrow, cradling her body in the desert before being forced to abandon it. In the aftermath of her demise, her father found their god, Rapu, but finding him loathsome and uncaring, Gorr killed him, becoming the God Butcher and embarking on a violent intergalactic crusade against all gods to avenge the death of Love.[1]

New Life[]

Resurrection[]

A girl born from eternity

Love is restored to life in Eternity's Realm

"Oh… My Love… I'm so sorry."
"It's okay."
Gorr and Love[src]

In 2025, Gorr went to Eternity's Realm, a dimension at the center of the Multiverse, where he met Eternity, one of the Cosmic Entities, and planned to wish for the death of all gods to avenge Love. However, he was convinced by Thor to wish for Love's resurrection instead. As a result, Love was restored to life through the power of Eternity.

Love reunited with her father

She then embraced Gorr, who was dying due to the corruption caused by All-Black the Necrosword. Love bore witness to her father's death but not before Gorr left her in the care of Thor, who then took her to Earth where she met Korg.[1]

Living with Thor[]

"Fine, I'll wear the boots."
"Thank you…And remember what my mother told me. Listen to the grown-ups."
―Love and Thor[src]

Love then departed with Thor to space and went to a foreign planet, where she was trained in combat and entrusted the weapon Stormbreaker. She joined her adoptive father in battle many times, where they became known as Love and Thunder. She drew a smiley face on Thor's weapon Mjølnir, which Thor reluctantly agreed made the weapon look better. Thor tried to serve pancakes for breakfast, but she did not like them.

As they prepared for battle, they had an argument because she wanted to wear slippers while he wanted her to wear boots, and she tried to blast him with optic beams. He got his way, and she wore the boots. He reminded her that they had a responsibility to defend the weak, and they charged out to defend an alien race from an invading army.[1]

Personality[]

Love is a compassionate child possessing great strength and fortitude as well as a sense of humor. She is also shown to be very compassionate, comforting her father in his final moments and agreeing with Thor that nice individuals should always be protected. However, as she is still a child, she has also shown to be argumentative and stubborn and can possess a temper, as shown when she used her power on Thor in anger when he didn't allow her to wear her slippers.
