The Liberation of Edison Po was a successful attack on the Havenworth Federal Penitentiary by the Centipede Soldiers to free Edison Po from his imprisonment.

In 2012, Edison Po found himself in hot water when he attacked a man for asking too many questions about the Clairvoyant. This led to Po's arrest, inhibiting him from being a main player in the Centipede Project.[1]
Chan Ho Yin is tested on
In a mission that pitted Coulson's Team against the Centipede Project, they learned about an Index candidate known as Chan Ho Yin. However, Chan was compromised by Raina, who convinced him that he could be a hero with his fire powers. Now going by Scorch, Chan allowed Debbie Hynes to run tests. Through this, they found out that Chan's skin was unable to be harmed by his fire powers. When Chan eventually died, Centipede took this research and integrated it into their Centipede Serum, allowing it to become stable.[2]

Sitting in the cafeteria of the Havenworth Federal Penitentiary, Edison Po was peacefully eating his meal when a fellow inmate sat down across from him. Po calmly let him know that the seat was taken, to which the inmate moved without further conversation. Suddenly, a hole in the ceiling was ripped open, allowing Brian Hayward and other, now stable, Centipede Soldiers to jump down through ropes. They quickly disposed of guards by blocking and throwing punches. Meanwhile, Hayward told Po that they had to go. A still unfazed Po told Hayward to call him sir. It was not until a confused Hayward complied that Po got up and followed the soldiers back up the ropes they came from.[1]

Centipede Serum research
- "We've been looking for where Po might be on the outside. Let's look at his life on the inside, at the prison. See if that gets us any leads. Anything on the Centipede Soldiers?"

Through facial recognition, Coulson's Team was able to find out that one of the Centipede Soldiers was Brian Hayward, who had a sister at the University of Ohio. Grant Ward and Phil Coulson arrived in Ohio and talked to Laura, telling her she won the lottery. When the two walked away, a suspicious Laura called Brian, which was Coulson's plan as they then tracked the call.
Phil Coulson and Mike Peterson meet with Raina
Arriving at Hayward's location in Oakland, the group, who had recruited Mike Peterson, fight the soldiers. While they were distracted, Raina kidnapped Peterson's kid, Ace. She then called Mike letting him know and making a deal, him for Ace. Mike let the group know and they met at the rendezvous point. There, Mike told Coulson that he lied and Raina actually wanted him, but Mike did not know why. Coulson was okay with this, just wanting Ace to be safe. He allowed Raina to take him, knowing that his team would find him. Feeling guilty, Mike ran after Coulson, only to be blown up by an explosion on the bridge.[1]
