Leopold James "Leo" Fitz was the Life-Model Decoy of the real Leo Fitz who was sent on a mission by Aida to infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D. and execute the Inhumans for Anton Ivanov. The LMDs plan was revealed, however, and Fitz was destroyed by Jemma Simmons, only to be repaired by his fellow LMDs and destroyed for good by Melinda May's Life-Model Decoy.

Leo Fitz's LMD rejoins the other agents
During a mission to rescue Director Jeffrey Mace from The Superior in Russia, the real Leo Fitz was captured by Aida and put inside the Framework. He was replaced by an LMD alongside who was sent to infiltrate the Playground. Once he had been successfully replaced and had the real Fitz's memories installed into his Quantum Brain, the Fitz LMD joined his other agents just as they witnessed the Watchdogs Submarine escaping the base with Aida and the captured agents, as the Phil Coulson LMD ordered them to retreat back to base.
Fitz reacts to the other LMD's being found
Back at the base, Fitz LMD spoke to Jemma Simmons about the mission as she expressed her own concerns about how the mission had played out, noting there was an odd period of silence when none of the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were in contact with each other, although Fitz's LMD tried to dismiss this as nothing to be concerned about. Simmons, however, was alerted to an alarm with showed there were four Life-Model Decoys that were already within the Playground, mistakenly believing that Daisy Johnson was one of them, while the Fitz LMD reacted with false horror at the realization.[2]
Fitz lies to Director Jeffrey Mace's LMD
Fitz LMD continued the deception as he noted that the LMD's were not aware that he and Simmons were onto them. However, they were soon joined by Coulson and Alphonso Mackenzie LMD who began asking questions to Fitz about the mission, allowing Fitz LMD to maintain its cover. When Jeffrey Mace LMD then ordered Simmons to bring all the Inhumans to the base, secretly planning on killing them, Fitz LMD recommended that he and Simmons remain close together, telling Simmons he would keep her safe while wanting to scan her brain as was his secret programming.
Fitz LMD is threatened by Jemma Simmons
As they made their way through the base, Fitz LMD discussed what had happened with Simmons, noting that Holden Radcliffe would have used Melinda May LMD to scan the agents to produce the LMD bodies. However, Fitz accidentally set off an LMD detector which Simmons soon noticed, at which point she drew her gun and threatened him. Fitz's LMD attempted to maintain his disguise by insisting he was not the machine, claiming Simmons was and did not even know it, noting how she had made him come to his quiet area with only her in order to then ambush her.
Fitz cuts his own wrist for Jemma Simmons
When Simmons continued to insist she was human, Fitz LMD began accusing her of being the only one who was threatening him with a gun, crying tears in order to put doubt in Simmons' mind, with her begging the LMD not to make her feel sorry for it. Fitz LMD told Simmons that he was the bad guy for ever helping Radcliffe build Aida and the LMD's before being ordered by Simmons to pick up a nearby blade and cut his wrist, so she could see if he was robotic or not, although Fitz argued that could mean she was a robot making him kill himself, but he agreed regardless of this.
Fitz brutally knocks out Jemma Simmons
As instructed, the Fitz LMD cut open his wrist, causing the artificial blood to come pouring out as he collapsed down onto his knees in apparent agony, claiming he may have cut open a vital artery as a result. The LMD ensured that he kept the bleeding wound in shadow and played the role of the victim in pain, causing Simmons to walk closer to him to try and patch up his wound. However, as soon as Simmons was close enough, the Fitz LMD stabbed her in the leg before knocking her gun away and striking her across the head with a heavy paint can before looking down at her.[3]

"Worry about Mack later. Can you program the Daisy fleet downstairs with basic seek-and-destroy?"

The Fitz Life-Model Decoy then had Jemma Simmons lightly sedated so that he could then log her inside the Framework and prepared her own Quantum Brain for her own LMD. While setting up the process, Fitz LMD reassured her by claiming that she would soon be able to rest and that he was doing this to keep her safe, which was that the real Leo Fitz had always wanted, so they could finally be married. When Simmons got off her chair and attempted to crawl away, grabbing a hammer to defend herself from him, the Fitz LMD calmly told her not to be afraid for him.
Fitz is destroyed by Jemma Simmons
Simmons distracted the Fitz LMD by commenting on how he had mentioned marriage, before using the hammer to drop a large engine on him, trapping him underneath. Simmons then used this to her advantage by jumping on the Fitz LMD and stabbing him multiple times, causing him to scream out in apparent pain before performing as Fitz in order to make Simmons feel sympathy. Simmons, however, stabbed him in the neck, causing him to malfunction and die. Phil Coulson and Alphonso Mackenzie's LMDs later found and repaired Fitz's machinery and reactivated him to continue the mission.
Fitz examines Alphonso Mackenzie's LMD
Fitz discovered that Quake had also learned of their deception and had destroyed the Mackenzie and Jeffrey Mace LMDs, with Fitz noting that it would take him a while to repair them both. Having just heard that Quake and Simmons had been captured by Melinda May LMD, Coulson went to investigate while sending Fitz to activate the Daisy Johnson LMDs. However, much of the base was destroyed by explosives before Fitz could do this when Melinda May's LMD triggered an explosion in order to enable Simmons and Johnson to flee. Fitz's LMD was destroyed in the blast as Talbot says to Coulson and his team that he discovered the robot's remains.[3]
Personality[]
Although he has become an android, LMD Fitz's personality has remained intact and retains the same characteristics as when he was human, despite his mission which he had been programmed with, wanting, for example, to save Jemma Simmons against her will by transferring his conscience in the Framework, to avoid her being killed and spend eternity with her without suffering and proposing to marry her, despite Simmons agreeing to the marriage, but he wanted to marry the real Fitz.
He also proved to have a truly manipulative personality, accusing Simmons of being an android, despite her finding out that he was, to get away with it.

- Android Physiology: Being an android, the LMD Fitz's physiology was superior than a normal human being. Moreover, like all the LMDs built after Aida, LMD Fitz was powered and animated by a Quantum Brain, a replica of a human brain which displayed the same complexity and capabilities than its biological counterpart but is only made of light.
- Enhanced Strength: Being an android, LMD Fitz was stronger than his counterpart, being able to easily hit Jemma Simmons with a blunt object and brute force to make her pass out and, subsequently, to strangle her to make her stop stabbing him.
- Enhanced Durability: As an android, the mechanical structure of LMD Fitz's body made him more resilient than humans. He was actually unharmed by his own stab in the veins and survived several stabs and an engine crash from Jemma Simmons, which only crushed him lightly. However, being stabbed in the neck in the middle of the circuits deactivated him, forcing Alphonso Mackenzie's LMD to repair him enough to allow himself to finish his own repairs, and the explosion of the entire Playground caused by Melinda May's LMD managed to ultimately destroy his body.
- Enhanced Stamina: His power source allowed the LMD to exert himself for long periods of time without rest between charges. He effortlessly overpowered Jemma Simmons even as he had just cut his wrists, and even though he was disabled by Simmons' attack, he resumed his mission once repaired until his ultimate destruction.
- Enhanced Reflexes: His Quantum Brain was programmed with a shorter reaction time than humans, taking Jemma Simmons by surprise while he faked pain from cutting his own wrists, managing to stab her in the leg and knock her down with a hit before she could even react.
- Enhanced Vision: Like all the Life-Model Decoys built according to Holden Radcliffe's plans, LMD Johnson was equipped with a Backscatter X-Ray Eye Implant that granted him the ability to see in the dark and through solid objects.
- Longevity: Potentially, as a Life-Model Decoy, Fitz's internal power source would have allowed him to last for years. However, he was destroyed not long after being built.
- Pain Immunity: The synthetic nervous system within the Life-Model Decoys was tweaked once Aida experienced pain herself, disabling all subsequent decoys from the feeling that was intended to accurately mimic human reaction. Therefore, LMD Fitz suffered no actual pain, not even when he pretended to as he cut his own veins.
Abilities[]
- Master Engineer: Programmed with Leo Fitz's scientist skills, LMD Fitz was able to be as smart as his original version, as demonstrated when he wanted to scan Jemma Simmons' brain to transfer his consciousness into the Framework and replace it as a Life-Model Decoy, when he managed to repair himself from the injuries caused by Simmons when LMD Mackenzie managed to put him back online, and when he assessed the possibility of repairing LMD Mackenzie even though he had been completely destroyed.
- Combatant: Programmed with Leo Fitz's fighting skills, LMD Fitz was able to hold his own as his original version, as demonstrated when he briefly battled Jemma Simmons before hitting her with brute force that made her pass out.
