The Flughafen Leipzig-Halle is an international airport in Schkeuditz, Saxony. The Clash of the Avengers took place in the airport following its evacuation, which resulted in a physical brawl between Iron Man's faction and Captain America's faction. The conflict caused millions of dollars in property damage to the airport as well as leading to the incarceration of Falcon, Scarlet Witch, Ant-Man and Hawkeye as well as the permanent paralysis suffered by War Machine.

The airport was digitally altered and rearranged by Industrial Light and Magic to better fit the film's plot.

Before the battle begins, the film depicts Steve Rogers exiting the east side of what appears to be the airport mall onto a runway where there is a helicopter on a heli pad. In real life there is a parking lot and a field in this area; not a runway.

It shows the airport's parking lot building from where Hawkeye fires the arrow that frees Captain America from Spider-man 's webbing to be an additional structure placed around 200 meters east facing the airport mall with the runway where the initial confrontation happens being in between; whereas is in real life, the airport only has one parking lot building, wich is connected to the west side of the mall.

In the scene where Ant-man tells Captain America to throw what he thinks is a water truck at War Machine, in the background a  section of the B terminal appears to be raised a few stories higher.

When Iron Man fires missles trying to apprehend Scarlet With and Hawkeye, two buidlings of companies "Betonbau" and "Bitzer" can be seen in the background, these two buidlings  do exist in real life but they are much further away from the airport than the film makes it appear.

Another change from the real airport is the location of the hangar where the Quinjet is being kept, in the film it is shown to be in an area only around 300 meters from where the two teams come face to face and it has a control tower next to it, when in reality the hangar that appears in the film is around 1000 meters west at the end of the runway and the control tower is located further north east in the airport.
