"We're in an old piece of construction equipment that Yondu once used to slice open the Bank of A'askavariia."
Rocket Raccoon[src]

The Laser Drill is a drill ship buit by the Tivan Group, but stolen by the Yondu Udonta to break into the Bank of A'askavariia. It was used by Yondu Udonta, Star-Lord and Rocket Raccoon to drill a hole on Ego's core.

History

Battle on Ego's Planet

The Laser Drill was deployed by Kraglin Obfonteri on the Quadrant with Yondu Udonta, Groot and Rocket Raccoon aboard to land on Ego's Planet in order to save the other Guardians of the Galaxy.

Yondu crashed the ship into Ego's palace, saving Peter Quill from being drained by Ego. The Guardians boarded the ship, with Quill and Rocket fixing the damaged thrusters. The team quickly exited the palace and began using the vehicle to burrow into Ego's core. As they entered the central cavern, Rocket used the lasers to drill straight into the core, only to be forced to turn away when the Sovereign fleet attacked the ship. With the ship under heavy fire, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer and Mantis fell out of a hole that was torn out on the ship's descent. Rocket caused the laser drills to rearrange themselves to fire on the Sovereign only for the power to cut out due to a hit to the engines. Nebula plugged her cybernetics into the battery to repower the ship. Rocket then fired on the Sovereign, destroying the entire fleet. The Laser Drill then was destroyed by a final shot from the last ship, causing Rocket, Yondu, Groot and Nebula to bail out.[1]
