Frank Castle's Hideout[]
- "Nice place you got here."
"Hmm. Appreciate that." - ―Matt Murdock and Frank Castle[src]
Frank Castle attacks Matt Murdock
Frank Castle set up a hideout at the manager's office at Knickerbocker Village, where he stored his arsenal and other equipment. While investigating Hector Ayala's murder, Matt Murdock paid a visit to the hideout, where he was briefly attacked by Castle, before he recognized his visitor. Murdock presented Castle with a bullet casing with Punisher's skull insignia engraved on it, which suggested that Ayala was killed by one of the New York City Police Department officers that idolized Punisher. As two talked, the conversation soon became heated as Murdock speculated that Castle would rather victimize himself than use his skills to help people, which Castle did not take well.
As Murdock was about to leave, Castle stopped him and suggested that he visited him because he wanted a permission or a justification to become Daredevil again and deal with Ayala's killer himself. Castle continued to press Murdock on the guilt he had been trying to suppress, claiming that Murdock was loathing himself for failing to save Foggy Nelson. Murdock kept denying it and as Castle kept pushing it, Murdock lashed out and hit Castle in the face, before backing down. Murdock then broke down in tears, mourning the loss of Nelson, but tried to take solace that the system dealt with Benjamin Poindexter, but Castle reminded him that it changes little and Nelson did not get to have his life, unlike Poindexter.[1]
Matt Murdock, Frank Castle and Karen Page regroup at the hideout
Following an altercation with the Anti-Vigilante Task Force, Daredevil and Punisher were picked up by Karen Page, who brought them to the hideout, so they could regroup. While Castle was stitching himself, Page helped to tend Murdock's wounds, as they caught up and Page admitted that she asked Castle to watch over him after Poindexter's escape. Murdock then revealed to Page that Vanessa Fisk was the one who ordered Nelson's death, so they went to investigate old Nelson, Murdock & Page files to see why did that happen. Castle decided not to join them and stayed at the hideout, listening to Cole North's radio, before going to Red Hook Pier to bring down the AVTF on his own.[2]
