Klaus Erskine was the son of Abraham Erskine.
Biography
In September 1935, he attempted to flee Germany with his family. His grandfather, on his mother's side, was a Jew and Abraham Erskine wanted to take his family to safety. They were stopped at the Germany/Switzerland border by Johann Schmidt and his men. Schmidt wanted Erskine's work on ways to increase molecular density of cellular fibers through synthetic proteins. In order to ensure Abraham's cooperation, Schmidt sent him, his mother Greta and his sister Marlene to the Dachau concentration camp. He died during a typhus outbreak. [1]
