The Kidnapping of Jemma Simmons was a successful attempt by Nathaniel Malick's crew to abduct Jemma Simmons and extract the information on Leo Fitz's location.

Fitz, Simmons and Enoch devise a plan to stop the Chronicoms
Having been warned by Enoch that the Chronicoms were trying to use time travel to take over Earth to establish Chronyca-3, Jemma Simmons and Leo Fitz decided to formulate a plan that would help their fellow S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to come out victorious.[2] Fitz, Simmons and Enoch had Flint use his powers to recreate a piece of the Time Di'Alla. The trio then traveled to the Theta Serpentis constellation where they began devising a plan to fight the Chronicoms. Leo Fitz used the Time Stream that Enoch had stolen and saw several scenarios that would allow S.H.I.E.L.D. to win.
Simmons has D.I.A.N.A. put in
Their plan consisted on them sending their S.H.I.E.L.D. friends through time following the Chronicoms so they could be brought back to their universe by using the Quantum Realm. They also built a Life-Model Decoy of Phil Coulson that could assist S.H.I.E.L.D.. In order to protect their daughter, Alya, Fitz and Simmons built D.I.A.N.A., an implant that would suppress the memories of the one who had it. Since Fitz's mind could not handle the implant, they decided that he would stay behind to watch over the Quantum Tunnel, which would ultimately bring Simmons and the other S.H.I.E.L.D. members back to their universe. Therefore, the implant was placed in Simmons' head so she would forget about Fitz and Alya's location in case the Chronicoms captured her.[3]
Malick teams up with Sibyl
Sibyl, the Chronicom leader that studied the Time Stream, saw that the only person that stood on their way to victory was Leo Fitz. Upon teaming up with an alternate version of Nathaniel Malick, Sibyl tasked him with kidnapping Jemma Simmons believing her to be the person that would help them find Fitz.[4]

John Garrett used his newly-acquired Inhuman powers to attempt to infiltrate the Lighthouse until he finally managed to get him and Nathaniel Malick inside the facility. Malick assigned Garrett to search for Jemma Simmons and bring her to Zephyr One, while he distracted the team.
Melinda May fights John Garrett
While searching for Simmons, Garrett came across Melinda May in one of the Lighthouse's labs and engaged in short fight before teleporting away, albeit clumsily, and continued his search for Simmons. During Malick's distraction, he found Daisy Johnson and Jiaying. Malick revealed their family ties to Jiaying before a fight where he overpowered Johnson and killed Jiaying. However, he was forced to flee when May shot him in the shoulder.
John Garrett takes Simmons to the Zephyr One
Garrett finally managed to find Simmons and teleported her to the Zephyr just as Daniel Sousa tried to shoot him. The injured Malick soon joined them and the two flew the S.H.I.E.L.D. aircraft out of the Lighthouse. Unknown to them, Deke Shaw was also on board. While Garrett was flying the Zephyr to their coordinates, Malick revealed to the captured Simmons that the reason they kidnapped her was to extract Leo Fitz's location from her mind to insure that he did not interfere with their plans.[1]

Deke Shaw's presence on Zephyr One soon became known, and was tortured by John Garrett for information, while Nathaniel Malick scanned through Jemma Simmons' mind with the Cerebral Fusion Machine to find Leo Fitz, both of which failed. Malick eventually found out about D.I.A.N.A. and decided to go into the Fusion Chamber with Simmons again to find Fitz. While he finally found the real Fitz in her memories, he was still unable to find his location. Unshaken from his failure, he left his prisoners alone where it was revealed that Simmons had lost all memory of Fitz due to Malick's probing.[4]
Rescue[]

Meanwhile, upon learning that Simmons had been kidnapped, Quake headed to the control room at the Lighthouse where she, Melinda May and Daniel Sousa watched as the Zephyr One disappeared from their detection. Johnson then met the alternate version of her sister, Kora demanding to get answers from her by choking her with her powers. Alphonso Mackenzie ordered Johnson to back off which she did.
Kora tells the team they are in a new timeline
The team discussed with Kora in the control room where she revealed that they were in a new timeline since their time travel interference had caused the timeline to branch off. Knowing she was informed of their enemies' plans, Johnson asked the team to let her talk to Kora alone as she wanted to learn why Malick had sent her with them. When Johnson questioned Kora's decision to want to join S.H.I.E.L.D., Kora replied that Sibyl said that Johnson would never abandon her sister, to which Johnson agreed before leaving Kora alone.[4]
The team boards a Quinjet
Knowing that Sibyl knew whe should try to save her sister, Quake decided to do something that Sibyl would not expect: save her true sister, Jemma Simmons. Along with Sousa and Mackenzie, the team boarded a Quinjet and went to space, where they managed to locate the Zephyr One. As the Quinjet floated through space as it headed toward the Zephyr, Johnson and Mackenzie cut the power to everything except the life support. As they waited, they witnessed how the fleet of Chronicom Destroyer Ship arrived and fired lasers towards Earth ultimately destroying every S.H.I.E.L.D. facility on Earth.[4]
Quake frees Jemma Simmons and Deke Shaw
Enraged, they decided to proceed with the rescue mission as they had not been detected yet by the Chronicom Fleet. They docked onto the Zephyr One. They realized it was empty so they retook it. After locating Simmons and Deke Shaw, Quake realized that Kora was also in the Chronicom ship. She then left to rescue Simmons and Shaw. Sibyl revealed herself to Quake while she was making her way through the ship and told her she was aware of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s presence on their ship but Quake ignored her and continued with her search. After finding them, Quake was revealed by Shaw that Simmons' memories had been blurred by the Chronicoms. She managed to get through Simmons and convinced her to follow her to safety.
The team escapes the Chronicom ship
The trio was cornered by Kora who was angered at Quake for not telling her about Jiaying's death. Quake managed to block Kora's attack and ordered Shaw to take Simmons to the Zephyr and not to wait for her. Quake continued to block Kora's attacks while trying to calm her down. She asked her to come with them, but Kora replied that it was too late for her. Quake insisted that they could defeat Malick and fix everything, while Kora refused to join them, she let her past. Quake reunited with Shaw, Simmons, Sousa and Mackenzie. In order to escape, Sousa and Mackenzie blew up the Chronicom ship's hangar's door using two missiles powered by unconscious Chronicoms. The team fleed away from the ship and made their way back to Earth.[5]
Aftermath[]
The Quantum Tunnel is activated
- "The Chronicoms did something to her memory. She's forgotten all of us... names, faces, everything. Then she'll just go off on something from the past or being married or..."

The rest of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team then reunited at The Krazy Kanoe where they were met by surviving S.H.I.E.L.D. agents who went there after the destruction of all S.H.I.E.L.D. facilities. The surviving agents told Coulson and the others that they had been told that they had to go to The Krazy Kanoe to deliver a group of packages, which unbeknowst to them contained pieces of a Quantum Tunnel that Enoch had left through the decades after he got stuck in 1931. Upon seeing the pieces, Jemma Simmons remembered how to assemble them together.
The Chronicom fleet is brought to the Quantum Realm
As the tunnel was assembled, Simmons activated it, and Leo Fitz was brought from the original timeline to the new one through the Quantum Realm.[5] After explaining to them their plan, Fitz and the rest of the team prepared to return to their timeline and take the Chronicom fleet with them, stopping them from invading the Earth of the new timeline. Deke Shaw stood behind and activated the tunnel in order for their friends to escape, and became the director of the new S.H.I.E.L.D. The plan was successful as back in the original timeline, the Chronicoms were defeated, thus preventing the colonization of Earth.[3]
