Kevin Norwood Bacon[2] is an American actor and one of Peter Quill's idols. In 2025, he was kidnapped by Drax the Destroyer and Mantis who wanted to give him to Quill as a Christmas present on Knowhere.

Kevin Bacon became a prolific American actor, who starred in the films Footloose[3] and Friday the 13th, among many other movies. He married Kyra Sedgwick and had two children with her, Travis and Sosie. He became acquainted with fellow actor Henry Winkler and had dinner with him once.[1]
Unbeknownst to Bacon, he was the idol of Peter Quill, who was abducted by the Ravagers as a child in the 1980s. Bacon's performances in his movies were later mistaken for actual feats of heroism, leading most of Quill's friends, including the Guardians of the Galaxy, to believe that Bacon was a real hero of legendary status on Earth,[3] who "saved countless lives".[1] His alleged heroism was so acclaimed and over exaggerated that Mantis believed he may have been an Avenger.[4]

In 2025, Bacon returned to his house in Beverly Hills with presents and received a phone call from his wife, Kyra Sedgwick, who was with their two children in New York City and were returning for Christmas.
That night, he watched Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, and saw on his tablet that he had visitors. He saw that Mantis and Drax the Destroyer were outside his gate, asking him for their permission to come in. He then told them that he could not help them, but they rang continuously, prompting him to turn off his bell. Bacon tried to resume his movie, only to be disturbed again as Mantis and Drax had jumped over the gate and went to his door holding two of his Christmas decorations. He asked them to put the decorations down and vacate the premises and calling the police. As the phone rings, Drax smashed through the side door window and announced their intention to take him with them, much to Bacon's alarm.
With that, Bacon ran through the house, telling the Beverly Hills Police Department that he was being chased by two people in costumes. Bacon left his house and ran, until he saw them hopping over bushes on the street. The police arrived and Bacon went behind them for protection. Bacon then watched Mantis put the police to sleep and fled under a fence. However, Mantis and Drax caught him, and Mantis used her powers to get him to agree to go with them them. They then robbed Christmas Castle and took the decorations aboard the Bowie, taking off for Knowhere.[1]

As they went to Knowhere on the Bowie, Drax and Mantis asked him about the time he saved a town through dancing and fought Jason Voorhees. Bacon explained that he did not actually do those things, but rather that he played characters who did them. This prompted Drax and Mantis to become disgusted as they realized he was an actor and not a hero. Mantis used her powers on Bacon and told him to pretend to be a hero, prompting him to put on a British accent and pretend to be a soldier in World War II, or Batman. Mantis clarified that he needed to be a heroic version of himself, and Bacon noted that usually her words would upset him, but that he was alright with it.
Bacon wishes Quill a Merry Christmas
After arriving on Knowhere, Bacon was placed in a large wooden box, which was wheeled out by Groot. He then yelled to the group that he was running out of air, prompting Peter Quill to hurriedly open the box. Bacon jumped out and cheerfully greeted Quill. Quill yelled at Drax and Mantis for kidnapping Bacon, who insisted that he was excited to be there. Quill demanded that Mantis release him from the trance, so she told Bacon to be who he really was. Once free from the trance, Bacon panicked, and Rocket Raccoon assured him that nobody would hurt him. He was dumbfounded by Rocket and called him a talking raccoon, resulting in Rocket threatening to kill him. Groot pulled Rocket back as Quill tried to reassure Bacon that they would get him home. Bacon agreed not to run, but ran anyway as soon as Quill let him go.
Bacon calls Kyra Sedgwick from the Bowie
He was brought to the Bowie by Kraglin Obfonteri, where he commented about Groot being a tree. He asked about the Yaka Arrow Controller on Obfonteri's head, and Obfonteri explained that it controlled a Yaka Arrow, but that Obfonteri was still learning how to use it. Obfonteri told Bacon that Quill looked up to him as a kid. He told Bacon that while Bacon saved a town with dancing, and Quill danced to save the galaxy. Obfonteri said that they were hoping Bacon could save Christmas for Quill. Bacon's phone rings, prompting him to ask how he got a signal. Obfonteri explained that their satellites could get it from 400,000,000 light years. Answering the phone, Bacon was greeted by Kyra Sedgwick, who asked if he was at the house.
Bacon says goodbye to his new friends
He told her that he was with friends, and she asked when he would be home. Bacon asked if it would be okay if he arrived late since his friends needed to learn about Christmas. Bacon joined Bzermikitokolok and the Knowheremen on stage, beginning to sing and play his guitar with the band in a song about Christmas. Bacon got in a group hug with the Guardians of the Galaxy, including Cosmo, before leaving. As he walked to the ship, Bacon told them that he would see them at Easter before returning home.[1]
Returning to Earth[]
Upon returning to Earth, Bacon spoke about his experience to the media, leading newspapers such as The St. Charles Post to report on his galactic abduction.[5]
Personality[]
Kevin Bacon was a loving member of his family. He excitedly set up a Christmas celebration for his family while his wife and children were in New York City. He was also a very understanding person. When Kraglin Obfonteri explained the reasoning behind Drax the Destroyer and Mantis kidnapping him, he decided that he would stay on Knowhere and help the Guardians of the Galaxy learn about Christmas, calling the Guardians his friends.

- Peter Quill embellished and exaggerated details of Kevin Bacon's films to his fellow Guardians of the Galaxy. For example, Bacon's character in Friday the 13th, Jack Burrell, never fought Jason Voorhees. Jack was killed in the franchise's first film and the killer in that film was not Jason, but his mother Pamela.
