Biography[]
Leader of Orgosentries[]
Meeting the Guardians of the Galaxy[]
Karja was stationed at the Orgoscope, when he alongside the rest of the staff were alerted by the High Evolutionary about the Guardians of the Galaxy potentially infiltrating it to steal a file for Subject 89P13, with Karja and the Orgosentries being on alert for the group.
Later on, Karja bragged to the Orgosentries about his ride, asking one if he knew about the Fuselex Core. However, when Kai-El agreed, Karja berated him admitting that he made it up, with them arguing if he knew that. However, Karja was alerted by Kwol about a possible breach in the Orgoscope's right wing, wanting to be sure, Karja asked Kwol if the report could be a glitch, causing her to check the security systems throughout the wing, spotting some anomaly in a decompression chamber, with Karja and the Orgosentries going to check it.
Upon arriving to the chamber, Karja gestured one of the sentries to open the chamber up. However, Karja and the sentries were met with a group of maintenance workers, causing the leader to berate them, to Karja's confusion, causing him to ask what he meant. The lead proceeded to berate him for recklessly opening the chamber while they were dealing with a hole caused by a neutral quark which went against procedure. Still confused, Karja asked the group what procedure had that, making one of the group angrily question if they needed the manual explained, stating that Karja could have killed everyone in the wing. However, when one member of the group continued on the tirade, asking if they noticed their "legitime uniforms" that matched some of them better than others. The leader apologized for that, stating that he was the boss' nephew and a bit off. However, Karja stated that he completely understood, stating how he had to constantly work with a moronic member of the Orgosentries, even admitting that while he was proud of one of the other Orgosentries, he hated Kai-El. When Karja glanced at Kai-El, with him getting more frustrated over his look, causing Karja to admit everything he did irked him, and how he wanted to throttle or kill him, telling Kai-El to shut it when he tried speaking. With that settled, Karja asked the head how they got to the Orgoscope so fast, with him stating that they hurried in time before the hole fully burned through. With that Karja thanked the group, and contacted Kwol to explain the worker's presence, allowing the group to continue.[1]
Fighting the Guardians of the Galaxy[]
As the "workers" went around the Orgoscope, Kwol recognized two of them in the Space Park as Drax the Destroyer and Mantis, alerting Karja and the Orgosentries to attack the pair. Upon meeting and surrounding the two Guardians, Karja ordered that the two stand down. However, while Drax and Mantis debated whether to run or fight, Karja demanded that the sentries take them down, although Mantis immediately leaped and kicked Karja, causing him to fly to the ground, while the sentries and Drax began to brawl, while Mantis used her powers to effectively disable the sentries. While Drax was cheering over the fight, Karja drew Drax's attention to him and used his riffle to heavily wound him.
While Mantis tried to carry Drax to safety, Karja used his suit to hover and hit Drax from the back, further injuring him to Mantis' horror. After another Orgosentrey wounded Nebula with his rifle, Karja ordered that the rest of the Guardians got onto the ground and to show him their hands in surrender, with Mantis reluctantly doing so, and Karja began to escort her to be confined. However, before the other Guardians were apprehended, Karja's and the other Orgosentries suits were hacked into by Star-Lord, causing Karja and the others, to begin to fly chaotically around the Space Park, allowing the group to get away.[1]
Interrogating Fitz-Gibbonok[]
The Guardians of the Galaxy successfully escaped, but Karja and the Orgosentries found a member of the United Ravagers, Fitz-Gibbonok, who aided the Guardians' infiltration. Capturing him from the outskirts of the first shield outside the Orgoscope, Karja and Administrator Kwol watched as Ayesha and Adam Warlock arrived to interrogate the prisoner to obtain the whereabouts of the Guardians. Karja thanked the High Priestess for funding the Orgosentry retirement schemes, while Ayesha ordered Adam Warlock to show the prisoner that they meant business. Adam Warlock misinterpreted the order and killed him, which angered Ayesha, so Karja attempted to empathize with Ayesha and said that he had a stupid subordinate as well. Karja watched as Ayesha took the communicator from the corpse of Fitz-Gibbonok and tracked Gamora and the Guardians.[1]
Personality[]
- "This one? This one I'm so proud. You're doing great, so proud of you. But this one, I just...Everything he does drives me crazy."
- ―Karja to Peter Quill[src]
Karja is somewhat mean and uncaring to his colleagues, as he repeatedly scolded and demeaned one of the Orgosentries who he sees as stupid and without knowledge. Karja seems to be unable to withstand any form of stupidity, as he looks down on that colleague, and empathizes with other individuals who also share the same pain, such as Star-Lord and Ayesha. Additionally, Karja is also cruel, as shown when he shot Drax in the back and right up his chest when the Guardians’ plans were revealed.
