The Kamar-Taj Librarian was a member of the Masters of the Mystic Arts and the Librarian of Kamar-Taj before he was killed by Kaecilius.

The Librarian routinely tended to his duties when he noticed that fellow Master Kaecilius started to delve into the Ancient One's private collection. Intrigued, he asked Kaecilius the reason, and he confessed that he was looking for the answers that she was unwilling to share.
Noticing that Kaecilius had picked the Book of Cagliostro, the Librarian tried to dissuade him by saying that its teachings were far above Kaecilius' skill level. However, Kaecilius still read the books and found the rituals that made him abandon the Masters of the Mystic Arts and gather some disciples to form the Zealots.[3]

Late one night, the Librarian was tending to the library's collection when he was confronted by the Zealots. Before he could react, he was ensnared by the Zealots and lifted off the ground. Kaecilius, the Zealots' leader, approached and placed an urn on the floor. Removing his Scythe Daggers, Kaecilius decapitated the Librarian.[2]
Powers[]
- Magic: As a member of the Masters of the Mystic Arts, the Kamar-Taj Librarian learned how to perform magic just like other Masters. He eventually became so proficient that he was promoted to Librarian.
- Eldritch Magic: The magic that the Librarian had learned was called Eldritch Magic which allowed him to summon shields and weapons at a moments notice.
- Spell Casting: The Librarian could also cast spells and was knowledgeable enough of them to become the protector of the spell books.
- Portal Creation: The Librarian could create portals to take him to places he desired. However, this was only available through a Sling Ring.
- Dimensional Travel: With access to portals, the Librarian could use it to get anywhere he wanted.
- Eldritch Magic: The magic that the Librarian had learned was called Eldritch Magic which allowed him to summon shields and weapons at a moments notice.

- Kamar-Taj: The Librarian worked in Kamar-Taj as a librarian. He talked with Kaecilius about his research in the Ancient One's private collection. Later, Kaecilius entered the library as his Zealots tied him up. Kaecilius then killed the Librarian inside the library.
