The State Security Committee of the Republic of Belarus (KGB RB, Belarusian; Камітэт дзяржаўнай бяспекі Рэспублікі Беларусь, КДБ РБ), commonly abbreviated as KGB, was the main security agency for Belarus. It was the Belarussian successor to the Soviet Union's Bylorussian KGB division.

Behind the Scenes[]
- In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Natasha Romanoff, who is stated to have been born in 1984, is said to have worked for the KGB. However, the Soviet Union dissolved in December 1991, making it unlikely she could have worked for the Soviet Union KGB. Black Widow and the tie-in comic Black Widow Prelude confirms that she did not join the Red Room until after 1995 and that she joined the KGB following her graduation from the Red Room. As such, it is impossible for her to have served the Soviet KGB. Following dissolution, the Russian successor to the KGB rebranded as the SVR, a fact that is also true in-universe, as revealed in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The only KGB that Romanoff could have served in given her age and time period of enlistment is the KGB RB, the Belarussian successor to its Soviet KGB counterpart. Agent Carter confirms that the Red Room Academy is located in Belarus, thereby granting heavy credence towards Romanoff being placed within the KGB RB. Following a discussion, the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki therefore operates on the basis that the KGB that Romanoff worked for was the Belarussian KGB.
