The Committee for State Security (Russian; Комите́т госуда́рственной безопа́сности), abbreviated as KGB, was the main security agency for the Soviet Union.

History

Androvich served as an operative for the KGB before becoming the Minister of Defense of Russia.^[1]

Following her graduation from the Red Room, Natasha Romanoff was recruited into the KGB.^[2] As a professional assassin, she served for the KGB before she left to join S.H.I.E.L.D..^[3]

Yuri Zaikin served for the KGB before joining SVR and, later, HYDRA.^[4]

The KGB managed to obtain a classified file with information on the mysterious assassin known as the Winter Soldier. In 2014, Romanoff managed to obtain this file from Kiev and handed it to Steve Rogers.^[3]
