Biography[]

The She-Hulk Ending[]

"That's it? We're done?"
"That's it? You obliterated the thrilling ending K.E.V.I.N. formulated."
"Yeah, that's what Hulks do. We smash things. Bruce smashes buildings. I smash fourth walls and bad endings."
Jennifer Walters and K.E.V.I.N.[src]

K.E.V.I.N. encountered She-Hulk after she broke the fourth wall of her show and walked into the Marvel Studios Headquarters, being disappointed of the show's ending. K.E.V.I.N. revealed that he was the one who made all the creative decisions of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and would answer She-Hulk's questions. However, he asked her to revert back to the human form, as the VFX team has already moved to another project, to which she complied. K.E.V.I.N. told Walters that he possesses one of the most advanced entertainment algorithm in the world, and he calls the shots on how her show will conclude.

Noting that her show is a legal comedy, Walters stated her argument that the plotline of Todd Phelps using her blood was too similar to the Super Soldier Serum plotline, not to mention the sudden appearance of Hulk and Titania. As all that would distract the viewers from her story, Walters proposed to change the ending, which K.E.V.I.N. eventually accepted. She proposed to remove the bit with Phelps and her blood entirely, remove Hulk, change the time of day, hold Abomination accountable for breaking the parole terms, and bring Daredevil back into the story. K.E.V.I.N. accepted Walters' suggestions but then she started asking him more questions about the daddy issues of Tony Stark, Thor, Loki and Peter Quill, as well as asking about the introduction of the X-Men, which K.E.V.I.N. was unable to answer.

Walters then tried asking about the Season Two but K.E.V.I.N. had fixed the error that allowed Walters to access him and that would never happen again. K.E.V.I.N. expressed an annoyance that Walters ruined the ending he had calculated but she showed no remorse, saying that the ending was not that good anyway. As Walters was leaving the building, K.E.V.I.N. told her that the next time he will see her on the big screen, which excited her but K.E.V.I.N. quickly told her that it was nothing but a joke.[2]

Trivia[]

  • K.E.V.I.N. is based on Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios and the producer of the majority of Marvel Cinematic Universe projects.
    • The curved area above the rotating lenses gives K.E.V.I.N. the appearance of wearing a baseball cap, like Kevin Feige is often seen wearing. Feige stated he wasn't in favor of K.E.V.I.N.'s cap and it may have been toned down and made more subtle.[3]

Behind the Scenes[]

  • The creative team of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law initially toyed with the idea that K.E.V.I.N. would be played by a handsome debonair man in a tuxedo, such as George Clooney or Jon Hamm.[4] Jessica Gao and her showrunners insisted Kevin Feige to voice K.E.V.I.N. himself, but Feige refused.[5]
  • Once it was decided that K.E.V.I.N. would be a machine, all its early designs had a little black baseball hat like what Kevin Feige often wears in real life. The real Kevin Feige thought a robot wearing a hat did not make sense so the "hat" got incorporated into the machine itself.[4]
