Jonathan "Junior" Juniper was one of the new members of the Howling Commandos following World War II. He was killed during a mission in the Soviet Union.
Biography[]
In 1946, Junior Juniper joined a tactical team for the Strategic Scientific Reserve. He nicknamed the team, the Howling Commandos, which was a continuation of Captain America's former team. On one mission in Tibet, Juniper claimed to have seen a yeti, which caused him to cry. Later, Juniper followed the leader, Dum Dum Dugan, as they met with Peggy Carter's team. Agent Li pointed out that they were the Howling Commandos leading to Happy Sam Sawyer saying he hated the name, hurting Juniper's feelings.
At night, they all sat around a campfire as Dugan teased Juniper about the yeti story. Jack Thompson then told a story of his accidental war crime. Knowing he was just trying to do the right thing, Juniper offered Thompson a drink, understanding what had happened. The next day, they went to a Red Room Academy and found a creepy room playing cartoons. Juniper remarked that he should have worn his knickers.
They then heard a girl crying and ran into a room to see Eva. Dugan approached her, trying to calm the girl down. Suddenly, the girl stabbed Dugan as she was a trained assassin. As Dugan collapsed, Eva took his gun, spun, and shot Juniper in the heart, killing him.[1]
