Joshua Jovan was a monster hunter who participated in a ceremony to inherit the Bloodstone. During the hunt, Jovan tried to kill Elsa Bloodstone until he was killed by Man-Thing.
Biography[]
Monster Hunting Career[]
In the 1990s, Jovan began his monster hunter career, and over the next thirty years Jovan amassed a kill count of fifty-seven.[1]
Bloodstone Ceremony[]
Jovan meeting Jack Russell
Jovan was invited to Bloodstone Manor at the time of Ulysses Bloodstone's death. Jovan arrived and greeted a hunter named Jack Russell. He talked to Russell about the importance of anominity and boasted about the following year being his thirtieth season. Verussa Bloodstone then entered as everyone sat down. Verussa talked about everyone's kill count with Jovan being the highest until she announced Russell's: over a hundred.

She then opened a box, containing the corpse of Ulysses. The puppeteered corpse of Ulysses told everyone how they were going to go through a hunt for a monster, who was weakened by the Bloodstone. Whoever defeated the monster was going to inherit the Bloodstone. Jovan sat excited.

Outside, they picked out of a bowl to see who entered the maze first. Jovan saw Russell's and frustrated groaned as he saw Russell was going to do the honors. They recited a speech as Russell walked into the maze. Jovan soon followed, sneaking around corners to make sure he was not ambushed. He soon found both Elsa Bloodstone and Russell. He attacked Bloodstone with his axe. Bloodstone effectively moved around him, eventually flipping Jovan over and taking his axe. Jovan told Bloodstone that death was coming for her.
Jovan is killed by Man-Thing
Jovan soon found a hammer and sneaked around some more. He then walked into a room and found his ax on the ground. He quietly walked over so he did not draw attention and picked it up. Happy with himself, he walked away laughing. Now wielding a hammer and ax, Jovan heard the monster and approached the sound. Once he got to a bush, he turned around to see Bloodstone pointing a weapon at him. He prepared to fight when suddenly, Man-Thing popped out from the bush and grabbed Jovan's head, incinerating him.[1]
