Biography[]
Joseph Danvers married a woman named Marie and together they had two children, Steve and Carol. While his children were growing up, Danvers berated Carol for her participation in physical sports and activities like her brother, which he deemed not suitable for her based on her gender. These experiences resulted in a strained relationship with his daughter.[1]

- In the comics, Joseph Danvers, Sr. was the father of Carol Danvers as well as two other children named Steven and Joseph Danvers, Jr., and the husband of the Kree captain Mari-Ell (Earth name: Marie). Due to Steven's death in the Vietnam War, he became broken out of fear of losing more of his family to dangerous jobs until he reconciled with his family when Carol awakened her Kree lineage and become Earth's greatest superhero.
