José is a former United States Army veteran who had joined up with Jigsaw's Crew and participated with several crimes under the leadership of Billy Russo, including attempting to murder the Punisher. As their situation became serious, Jose and the surviving members of the crew were then given new passports and an opportunity to start a new life by Russo.

Russo's Group[]
Helping Jimbo[]
José was out one night when he met a veteran named Billy Russo. He soon agreed to join Russo's group along with Jake Nelson and Bobby. They drank with Jimbo. who left later. However, Jimbo returned, saying that his car that he lived in was being towed. The group rushed out and Russo ordered Bobby and José to chase after the truck. They got to the truck and ambushed it, beating up the driver and taking the car back. Russo then told Jimbo to get out of town. The group returned to the bar excited and happy.[2]
Bank Heist[]
José and the group practiced their next move: a bank heist. José's job was to make sure the coast was clear as the group was inside. He was then to stay in his car as a getaway. The group got into their cars, but Jake Nelson was nowhere to be found. Jigsaw told them to go on with it. They arrived at the bank and the group went in. José stayed out front, getting restless at the wait. The group finally came out with the cash, but they were met by the Punisher. Russo stopped dead in his tracks while the group tried to fight him off.[3]
José and the others finally got out of there and returned to the warehouse where Bobby started to get mad at Jigsaw for freezing and causing people to die. The two argued until Anton Reed decided to just start splitting the money. Russo proceeded to shoot Bobby and Reed for their actions. Russo then took the money, asking if anybody else had a problem with him. José assured him that he did not.[4]
Causing Mischief[]
José and the group spent the next day in masks, going around town and causing mischief like killing many people to get money. José returned from a mission with a lot of money and dapped up his partner. Later, the group had a party with a bunch of women as they drank.[1]
José listened to Jigsaw as he told them their plan to take down Frank Castle. He told them that Castle ruined Russo's face because he thought he was better than them. José then asked Russo what the full plan was, but Russo refused to tell. José and everyone else then ambushed Castle and seemed to be winning. However, Castle gained his strength and took everyone down.[5]
New Life[]

Jigsaw finally returned to the base. José was made at Russo for the stunt he pulled, claiming that they should have just killed Frank Castle. Russo admitted he was surprised that the group did not just leave with the money. José said there were only five of them left. Russo knew that and surprised José and the others. He handed them passports saying that it had a new identity and new life. Their quarrel with Castle was over and they could now live a new life.[6]
