- "Rangers, Jets, Mets, baby. All day."
- ―Johnny Santini to Matt Murdock[src]

Biography[]
Hostage at New York Mutual Bank[]
- "All of this BS just for the friggin' vault? Get outta here. They're not gonna find any cash in there. It's just a bunch of safety deposit boxes."
"How'd you know that?"
"My family's been banking here since they got off the boat. I got my grandmother's ring in there, some other heirlooms, and I got a 1994 Mark Messier signed puck. It's probably the most valuable item in this bank." - ―Johnny Santini and Matt Murdock[src]

Santini talks to Selene and Matt Murdock
Johnny Santini came to New York Mutual Bank, where he and other civilians were taken hostage by a group of armed robbers, led by a man in a green mask. As the lead robber demanded Yusuf Khan to open the vault, Santini talked with Selene, saying that the robbers came for nothing as the bank had no cash stored in the vault. Matt Murdock asked for more details and Santini explained that his family had been banking there since their arrival to the United States and all that the vault contained were safety deposit boxes for valuable items. He commented that he had his grandmother's ring and a hockey puck signed by Mark Messier stored there, and Selene remarked that the robbers were probably after diamonds.
Eventually, the New York City Police Department raided the bank and neutralized the robbers, so Santini and other hostages got free unharmed. When Murdock tried to walk out and see the medic, he got stopped by a police officer, but Santini vouched for Murdock being one of the hostages, so he was let out of the bank.[2]
Meeting with Mayor Fisk[]

Santini tries to clean off Muse's mural
- "I work at the Sanitation. Thirty-five years."
"Happy to have you, Johnny."
"Just want to let you know, I voted for you. I can't tell you what a pleasure it is to actually be here." - ―Jonny Santini and Wilson Fisk[src]
Working at the New York City Department of Sanitation, Santini was tasked with cleaning up Muse's murals throughout New York City, but they were extremely durable and almost impossible to be washed off. Santini got curious and submitted the paint sample to a chemical analysis, after which it was discovered that Muse's murals were maid with human blood. Santini rushed over to the New York City Hall to report about his findings and Sheila Rivera arranged him a meeting with Wilson Fisk.

Santini tells Wilson Fisk about the murals
Santini got excited when he met Fisk, rambling about how he worked at Sanitation for 35 years and how he voted for Fisk when he was running for Mayor. Rivera tried to get him back on track and asked him to repeat to Fisk what he told Rivera, so Santini explained how difficult it was to wash off the murals and only concentrated sandglass did the thing. Fisk asked Santini to get to the point, but he continued to ramble about the strange epoxy the mural was made of and how he had to get it analyzed, and Rivera asked him to just say what he told her. Santini eventually informed Fisk that Muse had been making his murals with human blood, so Fisk immediately ordered Rivera to contact Phil Gallo.[1]
