Pope was invited to attend a rally at Harlem's Paradise to discuss the situation involving Luke Cage and how the New York City Police Department were currently dealing with in. Following Mariah Dillard's speech on the stage at the Paradise, Pope took to the microphone and preached his shared viewpoint that Cage was a threat to the citizens of Harlem. His performance, however, was interrupted by the ringing of gunfire upstairs and the eventual shootout in the Paradise, as Diamondback had attempted to shoot and kill Misty Knight, only for Cage to arrive and save Knight's life just in time, as Pope had managed to escape during all of the chaos.[1]
