Joey Gutierrez came back to his apartment one day with fish oil pills. He took a pill which was infested with Terrigen Crystals. This caused Gutierrez's Inhuman DNA to be unlocked, giving him powers. He was encased in a cocoon. When he woke up, the metal around him started liquifying. He left his apartment and went down the street seeking help.[1]
