Jemma Anne Simmons was the Life-Model Decoy of the real Jemma Simmons, used against Aida into tricking her to believe that she actually killed Simmons. Aida eventually discovered the ruse when the real Simmons revealed herself as the trap to lure Aida to Phil Coulson where she could finally be destroyed.

Tricking Aida[]
After Leo Fitz returned from the Framework and rejected Aida's love for him, Aida grew an immoderate desire for revenge on Fitz. Phil Coulson decided to use this in order to lure Aida into a trap where she would seemingly kill Jemma Simmons, Fitz's girlfriend and true love. Therefore, S.H.I.E.L.D. decided to replace the real Simmons with a Life-Model Decoy who would accompany Fitz in the Playground.
It is unclear whether the body replica of Simmons was created by Holden Radcliffe and Aida, as they had planned to replace all S.H.I.E.L.D. top agents with LMDs, or if S.H.I.E.L.D. created the body replica itself. Either way, S.H.I.E.L.D. mapped Simmons' brain and uploaded the data in the replica. Afterwards, Fitz took Simmons' LMD with him in the server room of the Playground, where Aida quickly found and confronted them.
While Aida blamed Fitz for rejecting her and thus making her suffer, Simmons' LMD grabbed a screwdriver and tried to attack Aida from behind. However, due to her Inhuman powers, Aida quickly reacted and overpowered Simmons' LMD, stabbing her in the chest with the screwdriver and threatening to kill her. Acting like the real Simmons was about to die, Fitz told Aida that he would help her retrieve the Darkhold and come with her while Simmons' LMD blamed Fitz for everything that had happened. However, Aida was determined to make Fitz suffer and used her electrokinetic power to kill the LMD that she believed to be the real Simmons. Aida then left a shaken Fitz with the destroyed LMD, ignorant of the fact that she would soon meet the real Simmons.[2]

Although she had become an android, LMD Simmons's personality remained intact and retained the same characteristics as when she was human, despite her mission with which she had been programmed, as demonstrated when she kept sarcastic about locking the door to prevent Aida from entering and sadistically insulting Aida using her real name instead of Ophelia.

- Android Physiology: Being an android, LMD Simmons's physiology was superior relative to regular humans. Moreover, like all the LMDs built after Aida, LMD Simmons was powered and animated by a Quantum Brain, a replica of a human brain which displayed the same complexity and capabilities than its biological counterpart but was only made of light.
- Enhanced Strength: Being an android, LMD Simmons was stronger than her counterpart. However, she did not actually engaged in combat, as she was built only to trick Aida into thinking she killed the real Simmons.
- Enhanced Durability: As an android, the mechanical structure of LMD Simmons' body made her more resilient than humans. She was able to withstand being stabbed by Aida, who thought she was the real Jemma Simmons and did not want to kill her immediately but to suffer. However, Aida's use of Lincoln Campbell's powers to electrocute her killed her instantly.
- Enhanced Stamina: Her power source allowed the LMD to exert himself for long periods of time without rest between charges. She functioned continuously since she was first deployed to cover for the real Jemma Simmons until being killed by Aida.
- Enhanced Reflexes: Her Quantum Brain was programmed with a shorter reaction time than humans, however, she did not apply them when trying to catch Aida by surprise, as her primary directive was to fool her into thinking she was the real Jemma Simmons.
- Enhanced Vision: Like all the Life-Model Decoys built according to Holden Radcliffe's plans, LMD Simmons was equipped with a Backscatter X-Ray Eye Implant that granted her the ability to see in the dark and through solid objects.
- Longevity: Potentially, as a Life-Model Decoy, Simmons' internal power source would have allowed her to last for years. However, she was destroyed not long after being built.
- Pain Immunity: The synthetic nervous system within the Life-Model Decoys was tweaked once Aida experienced pain herself, disabling all subsequent decoys from the feeling that was intended to accurately mimic human reaction. Therefore, LMD Simmons suffered no actual pain, not even when pretending to feel it as Aida stabbed her in the chest and electrocuted her.
Abilities[]
- Master Scientist: Programmed with Jemma Simmons' scientist skills, LMD Simmons was able to help Leo Fitz with repairing the damaged servers in the Playground's computer systems enough to power Zephyr One while they were attempting to rescue Alphonso Mackenzie from the Framework.
